Hi, To cut a long story short, i am in the middle of reclaiming bank charges from Nationwide.
Like every one else it has all ground to a halt, any way a couple of days ago I recieved a letter from a company called Bryan Carter & Co solicitors stating that they are acting on behalf of Nationwide and are asking for the amount that has been applied to my account from late charges.
I have no idea what to do now as they are saying that they will take me to court.
Any ideas or advise will be greatly appreciated.
Thanks in advance.

Hi, sorry i forgot to mention, i sent the paperwork off to Nationwide head office, i havent heard anything for ages. I didnt apply to reclaim under hardship at that time as I was in full time employment, however i have been made redundant recently so i might be able to go down that route.
I'm grateful that you replied and any advice would be most welcome.
Thanks0 -
send this to the DCA then deal with the bank only...
"ACCOUNT IN DISPUTE
Dear Sir/Madam,
Your ref:
Thank you for your letter of **DATE**, the contents of which are noted.
I am disputing the total value of these debts with **BANK** due to unlawful and unreasonable charges. As such, therefore, I consider this account to be in dispute and no further action or payment shall be made until this matter is resolved.
As per OFT guidelines Section 2.8k "not ceasing collection activity whilst investigating a reasonably queried or disputed debt."
This process may take some time, due to the Office of Fair Trading's test case, but I will try to expedite this issue as a matter of urgency.
I hope that you will enter into a sincere dialogue with me about this matter and I am writing this letter to you on the assumption that you would prefer to do this than merely respond with standard letters and leaflets.
I would appreciate your due diligence in this matter.
I look forward to hearing from you in writing.
Yours faithfully "0 -
