Kitchen Appliances

Hi there

I'm after a bit of help please.
I'm getting a new kitchen (from ikea) but need to deck it out with appliances

- Built in oven
- Built in microwave
- Integrated dishwasher
- Hob
- Hood
- integrated fridge and freezer

Any tips on what's reasonable price and good quality and where is best value.

Best I could see so far is either kitchenscience.co.uk or the high street stores e.g. Argos, Sainsburys

Thanks

    I just a delivery today from appliancesdirect.co.uk

They had some good deals on the discontinued Neff appliances. Phone up and speak to David.

I'm gonna agree with cally1, you can get some absolute bargains on the old model Neff appliances if you shop around...

You could have a look at the reviews on a load of products on http://www.reevoo.com/
also if you do decide to get something from appliances direct you get 3% back on quidco
  • Hi

It can be done cheap, depending on whether you want expensive appliances or not. I am on my own, but wanted all integrated appliances, but accepted I couldn;'t afford top of the range stuff. Key is just shop around. Here is what I have just bought if that helps:

    Got the following:

    • Glass stainless steel hood from Netto - £60
    • Integrated Under Counter Fridge, Freezer (Fridgemaster) and IWME12 Washing Machine (look on Argos website and they are the cheapest), got them all for £612.72 as I bought them on Homebase website on their 10% off day (also got about £7 cashback through Quidco, and Nectar Points).
    • Got Delonghi Built Under Double Oven for £250 (was £350 on Comet website) but went to Comet Clearance and got one that was box damaged.
    • Got 'gas on glass' black baumatic hob through appliance bargains for just short of £160.
Total - £1082.72, less cashback, money back through Nectarpoints, etc....

Can someone point me in the direction of 'scratch and dent' sites please, never heard of them.

    hi there

I'm glad to see this thread. My less than 4 year ld znaussi built in fridge that I bought at great cost thinking it would be reliable has done the 'gas' leak thing, it makes a noise, but no refridgeration...grrrr!

I am at the end of my tether now; do I buy a good brand again, going into debt to do so, and risk more disappointment or go for that Argos fridgemaster one which, frankly, is at least £100 cheaper than any others I 've seeen?

I'm thinking Argos....any comments would be greatly appreciated!

    x thanks x

    Hi Clara

I just ordered the Fridgemaster MTBL140 Fridgemaster Fridge and Freezer which were in the old Argos catalogue at £176, but I went through Homebase when they were giving 10% off everything. Ironically, the same fridge and freezer in the new catalogue is more expensive so the price has gone up. The fridge is now £199.99 and the freezer just over £215. I had them delivered the other day, Argos delivered them them and really pleased, even offered to unpack them and place them where I wanted them. They look OK and the same as more expensive models I saw in stores like Comet, etc.. I think you may find the price is now nearer £200.
