Student discounts - Laptops

Does anyone know which companies give a student discount offer to for laptops? I know HP does, but anyone else?

    Apple does as well. Around 12-15% off if your in Higher Education.

    Its exactly the same online, over the phone or instore if you are in higher education. Only difference is that you get a free 3yr warranty if you buy online or over the phone.

    really? wow times have changed. a while back instore was 8% and online was 20%. mind u since then they've tightened up their education area of the site due to fraud i suspect. I shouldve realised from that.

    I'm sure the online isn't as much as that - thought it was only about 6%?

    Its 6 - 8 % online for the Apple Education store online. Which is for students and teachers at secondary/primary school and those in further education.

    The Higher Education store online can only be accessed from a university network (or another way which links to being on the university network. i.e. proxy server to access resources off campus). This gives between 12-16% (sometimes a little less) discount.

    nope, it defo was. when i went to the brum apple store he told me it was 8% instore and i knew online was 20%. plus my friend bought a mac pro online and got a 20% discount. then they tightened up the HE section where u have to log in at ur HE place. but they did give me an extra year of 20% off as edu prices when they knew id graduated and was no longer a student of any kind :D

    the laptops are really cheap and you get some great deals with them, i.e. free usb headset for skype etc.

    These are the prices they offer, i know because i bought a macbook recently. At the moment they are doing a £60 rebate for a printer, with many to chose from you can get a printer for free, or a more expencive one and have £60 of the price knocked off. They are really qute good.

    2.0ghz macook costs £699.99 for non students, or £601 for those in higher education. (Fansatic price, and the best bet for most students).

    2.2ghz macbook (White) is £829 for non students or £713 for those in higher education.

    2.2ghz macbook (Black) is £949 for non students or £830 for those in higher education.

    My personal opinion is those who are on a budget go for the 2.0ghz macbook. At £600 its very well priced and is faster, lighter, and nicer than any laptop pc alternative. And dont forget the free printer!

    If you have a little bit more money then go for the 2.2ghz white macbook, its slightly faster but more importantly for the extra £112 you get the superdrive and 40gb more hdd space.

    Finally the black macbook in my opinion ist not worth the extra money, you are essentially paying the extra £114 for an exta 40gb hdd space and a black case.

    For those of you that are worried about the fact that macs use a diferent operating system than your used dont worry because you can now run windows on these macbooks (although within a week of using your new macbook you will prefer the mac os to windows).
