Last minute.com top secret hotels

calling all MSE,
i have just booked myself a 2 night stay with last minute,
its a top secret hotel and i roughly know the area so i can narrow it down to a few hotels.
I was wondering with all our knowledge whether any of you have stayed in a top secret to name it for others after a bargain but not wanting to risk allocation on arrival.

so for all that have stayed in a top secret hotel could you please give the description from last minute and then your input (name the hotel)

i think this will make sure other MSE`s get the same hotels cheaper by going through top secret.

I think many people have found the name of the hotel by cutting and pasting the hotel info from the Top Secrets Section and googling it. Often the same text is used by many sites, so you'll find the hotel name that way!

For OP, why bother - there's a simpler way

Sort the list of hotels in "closest to" order from a given point

Find the one you are interested in then look for others that are the same distance away from the point.

    Then match descriptions

For example I just did a booking for a hotel near Trafalgar Square. I found 2 hotels 0.16km from TS

The first hotel is a Top Secret Hotel and has a description of

This modern hotel is situated in the centre of London yet in a quiet side street adjacent to the National Gallery. It is within walking distance of Covent Garden and Regent Street, just perfect for access to the whole of the city and it's wonderful sights. Warm patterned fabrics combine with wooden furnishings to make a smart, modern, comfortable place to stay

The next hotel in the list is the Thistle Trafalgar Square and is described as

This modern hotel is situated in the centre of London yet in a quiet side street adjacent to the National Gallery. It is within walking distance of Covent Garden and Regent Street, just perfect for access to the whole of the city and it's wonderful sights. Warm patterned fabrics combine with wooden furnishings to make a smart, modern, comfortable place to stay

Any chance the Secret Hotel is the TTS?

Are you saying that you don't know what hotel you are staying at ???????

You've booked the 'top secret' hotel so the confirmation email from Lastminute will tell you its name ????????

Am i missing something here, hotwire, priceline, lastminute.com all do 'secret' hotels which just means they don't tell you which hotel it is until you pay for it. As soon as you put through your CC details and click 'buy' you instantaneously get confirmation telling you which hotel it is.......

If the OP has actually booked it then they must know ???? or is someone just trying to find out before buying ?????????????

if it was a secret hotel until you got there, how would you know where to go :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

Only thing is, of course, that having paid for it, if you then decide that you don't like it, I suppose its too late to do anything about it. If there was a set standard of, say, 3-star minimum, it would be less of a worry. Perhaps there is, never tried it personally, but often wondered if it was worth a punt.
  • I went for a 'Top Secret Hotel' with airport parking near Heathrow last September. Bearing in mind that most Top Secret Hotels are 3* or above all I was concerned with was the location.
It ended up being the Holiday Inn M4 (Jct 4).
I was well chuffed!!! And all it cost us was £54 for 10 days parking and a room the night before we flew out!!

We got confirmation of the hotel name once we had paid.

We will certainly make use of Top Secret Hotels again.

FYI - Ours was through Holiday Extras!

We booked a lastminute.com hotel last year getting confirmation straight away.
We've also just booked nine nights in Niagara and Toronto using Hotwire and Priceline and averaged 80% discounts on all bookings paying about £22 to £36 per night for family rooms in 4* & 3* hotels, all with pools. We used the betterbidding.com website which specialises in identifying 'top secret' hotels ;)

Lastminute.com to be fair are very easy to identify as an above post explains
