Hi it's another request for New York!
We are a family of 5 and want to book 10 days in New York, we would like a suite or self catering as 2 hotel rooms would be too expensive. We have tried Doubletrees in Times Square but their max occupancy is 4 and the best we have found is Embassy Suites. Before I go and book this is there anywhere else anyone has trie and would recommend?
Many thanks

Try Radio City Apartments . We have booked for March 2007. Tripadvisor gets good reviews. If you check the previous reply the apartment shown in area 7 is the same. You can therefore compare rates.0

Thanks for those Pin and duckcity, radio city apartments look good but the 2 bed apartments are booked up for when we want to go. I have tried another Embassy Suites hotel in New Jersey which gives around a £600 saving compared to staying in Manhattan. We would much rather be in Manhattan but not sure we can ignore that saving!! What is NJ like to stay in? Is it easy to travel to NY, it looks like it is only over the bridge?
I'd love to hear of anyone's experience.Debtfree JUNE 2008 - Thank you MSE:T0 -

NJ is much cheaper than NYC, without a doubt. In terms of getting into Manhattan, about 20 minutes?
Naturally you won't be "in the thick of it" though.
Have you looked at staying in one of the boroughs out of Manhatten, but still in NYC, like Brooklyn?"An eye for an eye leaves the whole world blind" - Mahatma Gandhi0 -

Do a SEARCH for "jersey" :wall::wall::wall:
or even "New Jersey"
or "Meadowlands"0 -
We're a family of 5 too, and when we've been to NYC we've stayed in the Bedford or Beacon hotels.
The Bedford is just a couple of min walk from Grand Central Station, so a great location, but slightly shabby and the bathrooms are adequate but a bit old.
The Beacon is quite high up on Broadway (somewhere around 70-something street). Its a bit nicer, but a further out- it is only 3 or 4 mins from the subway and a bus stops right outside.
Both do suites with a large bedroom and a lounge with sofa-beds plus bathroom and kitchenette.
Try the various sites for prices as those are very dependant on dates.0 -
I dont know what your budget is but you could look at this site:

Many thanks for all your suggestions, I liked the look of Radio City (and their prices ), too bad they were full. I have, after much deliberation, booked for us to stay at the Embassy Suites, Manhattan. 10 nights for around £1700 for a family of 5 including full cooked breakfast. That gives us a 2 room/2 double bed suite with a sofabed so we should all fit in ok. At the end of the day I really wanted us to stay 'in the thick of it'. Thanks for all your help and suggestions though I think it really helped me focus on where we wanted to be. Roll on March next year!Debtfree JUNE 2008 - Thank you MSE:T0

i can really recommend https://www.colbyinternational.com - east 51st street suites - very reasonable, not ultra swish but very clean and convenient, right in mid town. our 2 girs had a separate studio suite which worked really well.Treat everyday as your last one on earth! and one day you will be right.0
