Ikea white gloss kitchen

I am about to have one of these installed, but want some open shelves at the end of a unit. They only come in white (like the insides of all their cabinets), not gloss  . My builder suggested I try other kitchen suppliers, & i spent ages chasing a B & Q version in white gloss, only to find that it too is not gloss.
Does anyone have open shelves with a white gloss kitchen?
Any suggestions as to where I can get glossy white open shelves, or if I could paint something onto the Ikea shelves I can get to make them more glossy?

I've painted Ikea shelves and units without a problem, make sure they are primed and you should be OK.0

Any idea what I can paint it with to make it really glossy & shiny like the other cupboards?0

I doubt you'd manage to achieve the finish you want with paint. Also, surely they'd scratch really easily if shelves?0

If the doors you are fitting are plain and have no mouldings etc then why not get your builder to use a couple of them cut into the required shapes/sizes and make the shelves from scratch?

Couldn't you varnish them with gloss varnish?0

sadly yes. After driving miles to the only store that had one in stock, the box was open, so I was able to look at it. It's really really cheap particle board, & the finish is terrible.0 -
You'd need to check the sizes if buying from a different range, Ikea kitchens seem to have slightly different sizes, their doors will not fit our standard kitchen.0

What you need are infill cover panels. These will have the gloss finish you want & with a bit of clever cutting, you'll get the edges in the right place, to also be laquerd, rather than just 'white'.
They are an Ikea item & what we've used on the ends & backs of our gloss white Ikea kitchen.
Pictures going on www.theupsidedownhouse.9f.com in next few days, if Mrs V gets her foto skills up to date.
