Favorites???logos

up until 1 week ago when i was looking at web site and then added it to my favorites ,some of the bigger website had little logos next to their names eg ebay and bbc.now for some reason when i decide on a new "favorite " to be added there is no logo j7ust an internet explorer logo in front of the name.i deleted ebay and put it bac into favorites but there was no logo just the internet explorer logo.

i know this is trivial but it bugs me grrrrrrrr

    If you do the following it should show the favicon
    (this site has one so you can try it above)

    click on the default ie logo and drag it 2 inches to the right - then let go.
    repeat 2 or 3 times

    That usually forces IE browser to show the favicon for the site you are looking at.


    As to having it on as default - I wish I knew

    Can't find a setting anywereh - or anyone who knows if there even is a setting. My ie has never shown favicons unless I do the above


    (can't remember if there's a reg edit for this - don't think it's worth tampering with the registry for anyway)

    Internet explorer stores favicons as tempory files, if you delete your tempory internet files the favicons will vanish. Firefox stores them differently so they won't vanish.
    A way of maintaining them on IE is FavOrg, it will scan all you websites and update them.

    In a similar vein, I created a favicon for my own site, uploaded it to the main folder (as instructed), and it's supposed to show when I visit the site. I have yet to see it. Any ideas why?
    I haven't been asked to tell you that I'm the [highlight]Board Drunk[/highlight] for this board.     this is gonna sound crazy but i decided to delete all my favorites favicons and went back to those fav web pages to put them dowm as favorites again.nothing happened so i thought oh er and then left this message for help.and went to sleep just turned on pc and whoaaa ,i have got hem back.?????

    dont know how but i do .thanks for all your help
