Working Tax Credit advice anyone?

Just wondering if anyone could offer advice here. I had a chance in circumstances in December and phoned WTC with my new details. They said they would amend my award and be in touch. Yesterday I had an amended award notice that was exactly the same as the one I received a fe months back, apart from the bit where it says amount already paid to you etc. I phoned them last night to enquire about this and was informed that this is a 4 weekly run-on from the date I gave them new details, after this 4 weeks things will change. That has never happened before (and when we moved here early last year hubby was in and out of jobs with agencies so we were always on the phone to them with new details) so I was wondering if anyone had experianced this 4 week run on before?

What was the change in circs ?I no longer work in Council Tax Recovery but instead work as a specialist Council Tax paralegal assisting landlords and Council Tax payers with council tax disputes and valuation tribunals. My views are my own reading of the law and you should always check with the local authority in question.0

Hi
I work on the helpline.
Call up and make sure that the date you ended work is the same as the date showing on the system.
A 4 week run is paid when entitlement to WTC has ended. If you notified them straight away it would be calculated and the run on payment sent to you as a one off GIRO. If you waited a while before letting them know you dont get the payment and it is deducted from any overpayment of WTC. It can also be deducted from any outstanding overpayments which may be on your accout.
The main thing to check is that your WTC payments have stopped after you notified the Tax Credit Office to make sure they are not overpaying you.0
