2 questions...anyone help? please

FIRSTLY....
I have recently started selling on ebay, and 1 of my items is a ladies top, has one bid, well it still has a couple of days to go, but as it is gonna sell today I thought I would package it, anyway I have noticed a little hole in the top so obviously dont want to sell it, what should I do as the top has a bid on it? I would be happy to either thro the top away or even send it to the buyer for free-although with a hole its pointless really.

SECONDLY
I have been selling some baby clothes, ALL my items listed have 'POST TO UK', anyway several items sold and when I went to write out the packaging I noticed the buyer is in Germany, at first I didnt really mind and thought Id let them off this once, so I sent the invoice with European postage costs, the buyer didnt pay and continued to bid on further baby items which they won, this has been going on for just over a week, they have won a total of 7 items now, I have sent invoices on several occasions, asking them to pay now so I can send the items etc, but worry that there might be a language barrier. I understand that they might want to combine postage etc, but I havent had any messages from them or anything, no replies to my messages etc, so I am wondering what I should do, they currently dont have any more bids on any of my items, won 2 more items this evening, so I will again send yet another invoice, but can anyone advise me on what to do if I still dont receive payment over the next couple of days? I feel I have been more than fair, I hadnt been planning on selling abroad in the first place, but thought Id be nice!

With regard to the first question, you can pull your listing, it will give you a list as to why you wnat to pull it and you just choose the right option.
With regard to the second question, you need to sort out your optioins in your listing, in the settings section for your buyers. Select only post to within the UK and overseas bidders shouldn't be able to bid. If you don't receive payment within 4 days you can open a non paying bidder thingy, strange fro them to bid on so many items with out contacting you to ask about combined postage, but give them the 4 days and see what they do then. HTH

Firstly, dont write off selling to Europe, the postage is not that more than sending an item in the UK, in fact crazy as it sounds at times you may find it is cheaper. Of course you need to check out which Europe countries have a poor reputation for claiming not delivered. Also don't bother with any type of recorded when sending to Europe as the tracking ends as it leaves the UK. I would just add a line within your item for example saying 'Postage Price stated is for UK mainland customers only. Overseas customers please contact me for postage quote prior to bidding'

Not sure if you can cancel an auction once a bid has been made. Are you able to message the budder advise them of the problem prior to canceling the item if you can, or at least advise them that you cannot follow through with the sale once auction finshed and request thay cancel their bid.

If that was the case with regard to cancelling the item, still attempt to contact the bidder as she/he may be watching some of your other items, dont want to put her off al together..lol

First Question answer -

As you may or may not bee, you can cancel an auction. Just select 'Item damaged' in the reason for cancellation page. If the 1 bidder still wants it they will contact you and you can explain why you have pulled-it.

As for your second question, did you select 'post overseas' options when you listed them?. If you did, then you will have to honour the bids, if not, then you will have to keep sending emails to the buyer.
If they do win many of your items, then you could find it cheaper to combine the postage than you think. One large parcel will cost less to ship than several small ones.

Don't forget, it may be cheaper to use Parcels2Go or similar, just compare prices before you ship.

Thanks for your replies,

in terms of the 1st question, I have now emailed the potential buye to explain-and said I am willing to send it for free if they wish-but to be honest it should go in the bin, I will cancel the auction in a minute.

2nd question, I will give them the 4 days,
their bids were made over several days as well, so they must have kept visiting my items
I had said post to uk only in the posting options, yet they were still able to bid :think:

hadnt thought to shop around for postage so thank you for that,

To block buyers in countries you don't want to ship to:
Go to My eBay.

Click the Account tab, and then click the Site Preferences link in the left navigation.

In the Selling Preferences section, scroll to Postage & Packaging preferences, and then click the Show link.

Next to Exclude postage locations from your listings, click the Edit link.

Select one or more continents to exclude all countries on those continents. Or select Show all countries and check the specific countries you don't want to ship to.

All excluded countries you selected will appear on the lower section of the page. You can select a check box to apply these exclusions to all current live listings.

You can select to apply these exclusions to all current live listings on a global level.

Click the Apply button to save your requirements.

This is from Ebay, if you set it up for future listings people from other countries won't be able to bid unless you add their country to the auction.
