Hi there, i need a loan for my kids Xmas, its only for £500, but i dont work and my credit rating is terrible. I have never applied for a loan before so i just wouldnt know where to start! Does anyone know of any companies that would give a loan to unemployed? Any help would be very helpful, thanks

No, nobody will give you a loan if you can't pay it back - this is a reasonably simple one from a lenders perspective.0

Provident might - £15 per week though for 57 weeks. Not sure if the agent would give you the full £500 if you are on benefits £15 per week is alot to pay out and the interest on a provident loan is sky high!
Is there no one in your family who could lend you the money or even half of it?0 -
Please dont borrow from loan sharks- easier said than done at this time of year but you will regret it all after Christmas. Have you tried for a crisis loan from the Job Centre?, or local credit union?. Do you really need that much?0

Hi i did apply for a budgeting loan through the job centre but was refused as ive not been on income suppoet for 26 weeks. So i thought i might apply for a small loan. If i could get one! Has anyone heard of Blackhorse loans? Apparently they do loans for people on benefits....... Thanks0

No you don't. You could do xmas for a fiver. No-one needs £500 for xmas. :rolleyes:I was born too late, into a world that doesn't care
Oh I wish I was a punk rocker with flowers in my hair0 -
Spending £500 on children's presents is pretty excessive at the best of times; for someone who's unemployed, it's absolute madness!0

At my lowest point I did christmas for a tenner and is wasn't our worst christmas by a long shot!
If you ever want to teach your children the value of money this could be their best lesson. It doesn't have to be harsh. We are programmed by society into beleiving we have to buy this toy and that toy for the children - its a fool's game!!
Christmas is a big roast dinner at the end of the day and Boxing day is leftovers.
Don't get into debt just fora stupid holiday - look on the Christmas money saving board for free and cheap ideas and concentrate on that.

Why on why would some dream on spending £500 for thier kids birthday???. i really dont get it!!!!! esp when they dont have a job.
Utter utter fool and you would have no sympathy for getting in to deep water if you was in trouble after christmasFor everthing else there's mastercard.
For clampers there's Barclaycard.0 -
Its my wee ones first xmas and I have spent no where near this amount!! I have spent approx £150-£200 but thats me just being excessive:rolleyes:. I could have done it a lot cheaper!! Xmas is not about what you can spend, its about spending time with those you love. If your children are young they will not care about what you have spent, if they are older then it is the beginning of the journey to teach them the value of money!
Do not get into debt for an over commercialised (sp) holiday. Teach your children what its really about0 -
