Hi all.
Since i bought this new bed the restus savoy double the fitted sheets barely stay on. I think its cost my other bed/mattress wasn't 10" deep like this new one so old ones dont fit as good. Also i have this 100% polyester cheap mattress protector. Which along with the fitted sheet on top almost always comes off the corners and is a mess when i wake up the next day and the protector doesn't have elasticated rims like those on fitted sheets.
So i need some help.
Where to find a nice quality fitted sheet for a double (not small double) 10" mattress.
Where to find a nice quality mattress protector (breathable if possible but still good with protecting against spills or sweat etc as one i have makes me sweat like mad) with good elasticated edging to fit double 10" mattress.
Also they need to be able to go right under and then some of the mattress edges in hopes to not come off when i turn and stuff during the night (im a big lad too which means i have a bit of force when i turn over).
Any help appreciated.
Please nothing low quality but nothing stupidly expensive. I was thinking £5 for the fitted sheet and perhaps 10-15 quid for mattress protector.
Also i suppose while im at it a pillow protector so my mem foam pillow doesn't get damaged from wet like a spill or saliva when sleeping (we all do it).

Brushed cotton sheet from Tesco - £9. Very comfy!
Edit: Infact £9 is for the King so double will prob be nearer your £5 limit.I was put on this earth to accomplish a certain amount of things, at this rate I may never die!0 -
Cant find the dimensions for it. Are you sure it will stretch and tuck under well with 10" deep mattress?
Edit - Hmm this was a interesting read about depth of sheets.
http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B0046ZAM1C/ref=olp_product_details?ie=UTF8&me=&seller=Size - 54" x 75" + 10" Box - 137cm x 190cm + 25cm Box. Guide for fitting - We recommend allowing an extra one or two inches on the sheet to ensure that the sheet tucks right under the mattress. An extra 2 inches is recommended. For example; If the exact depth of mattress = 8" we recommend a 10" deep fitted sheet. If the exact depth of the mattress = 10" we recommend a 12" deep fitted sheet.
Edit 2 - Looks like this is about as cheap as i can get (online anyhow) and i duno if their nice or not, anyhow tried em?
Double Bed Flannelette 12" Deep Fitted Sheet - Sky Blue: Amazon.co.uk: Kitchen & Home
Hopefully i might be able to spot somit similar in town if i have a gandes there soon.0 -
Dunno about all that but my mattress is listed as 11" deep although when I measured it it came out as 10". Either way the sheet I'm talking about from Tesco fits fine.I was put on this earth to accomplish a certain amount of things, at this rate I may never die!0

Duvet and Pillow Warehouse have 30cm deep sheets and protectors at reasonable prices. Not used them personally though.

Got a sheet for £7 or 8 from tk max and a mattress protector £15 made with Egyptian cotton. They fit and arnt too bad comfort wise, hope the mattress protector actually protects from accidents like coffee spills and stuff (doubt id spill owt as im careful but u never know).0

Just curious if anyone knows really how this goes.
1. Mattress protector then fitted sheet over.
2. Just Mattress protector.
I use no 1 method. But wondering is the mattress protector suppose to be an alternative for a fitted sheet or not?0 -
I have problems with sweating at night and find anything man made results in me sweating so maybe look for 100% cotton or similar rather then anything with polyester or nylon mixed into it.
I have several mattress protectors which I have compared with and the best one was one from John Lewis but it wasn't cheap, and way above and beyond the £5 suggested amount even in the sale. I had one from Tescos but found I was able to put my finger through it and it tore! Waste of £9 as it only lasted two uses, and wasn't great with preventing/limiting night sweats. I also had one from Ikea but it was crunchy and man-made and I could not use it.0
