You can upload pictures to a web hosting site such as tinypic or photobucket, then post the URL here but change http to hxxp. Someone will then change it back to a live link.
You do not have to write an appeal as it is already done for you. Just copy and paste and send the template from the NEWBIES thread. No editing, no revealing who was driving.
A landowner cancellation is always best, but only if you have a legitimate reason for being on private land.I married my cousin. I had to...I don't have a sister.

Good idea! Here you go then ...
Signage as viewed from the road leading towards car park entrance:

Sign at entrance viewed from driver's seat:

Nearest sign to space allegedly parked in (note the broken lighting):

Picture of the same sign taken on foot from approx 1m away:

Taken with flash so it can actually be read:

Also, should I simultaneously write a letter of complaint to the land owner, Virgin Active? The driver is not a member of the gym and did not visit the gym on the night in question.
Thanks all.
Yes, I can see that working - NOT!
Let me draw up a draft for you
"Dear Virgin,
I parked my car in your car park. I am not a member and I did not use your facilities, I also overstayed.
The result is that I got a ticket and the company that you appointed, presumably to stop people freeloading on your private land, want up to £100 from me.
Even although you may have a signed contract with them and they have been appointed presumably on a no fee from you basis, I want you to get them to cancel the charge."
Yep - that'll do it nicely.
Stick to your appeal to the PPC.0 -
Thanks for your contribution! I appreciate sarcasm as much as the next guy but this is an appeals process that I have NO EXPERIENCE of and the newbies thread said that you should complain to the landowner. So, whilst I would not have personally thought that the landowner would be responsive to a complaint given the circumstances, I thought it prudent to check whether a letter was still a necessary part of the process.
- This kind of sarcasm (not always obvious when written online) could be particularly damaging to someone's appeal.Stick to your appeal to the PPC.0 -
So, I managed to re-visit the car park last night and take some pictures (in similar conditions) of the signage both from the driver's seat and on foot. I now have renewed optimism about fighting this this.
Forum won't let me post the image links because I'm a newbie :-/
I'm going to draft my initial complaint to the PPC, can I post here for opinions? Also, should I simultaneously write a letter of complaint to the land owner, Virgin Active? The driver is not a member of the gym and did not visit the gym on the night in question.
Thanks all.
so lets get this streight , there is a car park with 4hrs free parking for gym members , there is no offer of parking or machines to pay for parking on the site?
you parked on this land and went walkabouts for 4.5 hrs
is that close or have I missed something0 -

That wasn't sarcasm. I meant that you should concentrate on your actual appeal points and not hope for any help from the gym. It is bad enough that you freeloaded off them, as twhitehousescat highlights, but to then consider asking for their help is just barefaced cheek.
Why do you suppose they appointed a PPC in the first place?
Sometimes a poster writes something that gets up the collective noses of regulars on here who invariably try to help. Other times, I just shake my head and wonder what planet some people are on.
By all means, try with the forum appeal points and good luck with them, but the idea of writing to the gym in your circumstances beggars belief.0 -
Thanks, I've uploaded to Tinypic instead. If someone could make them active that would be great.
Can you please remove the link in your post?
Thanks
