we have four of these accounts, oops...

    disappointed they are ending.

To be clear, they're not ending. The interest rate is reducing and the amount it can be earned on it reducing too but the account is not ending.
Remember the saying: if it looks too good to be true it almost certainly is.

No just the Tesco ones which I use for DDs

If earning interest is your aim, you should get the Nationwide Flexclusive Regular Saver and the FD, M&S and HSBC regular savers are worth having. If you want rid of the TSB, maybe switch it to First Direct for the £100 incentive and open their 5% regular saver.

I`ve just closed all three Santander accounts and put the money in a 95 day notice account for more interest and less hassle every month.

That's Regular as in monthly, not regular as in standard. The second, which you have got, offer minute interest, the first offer up to 5% AER, see TheShape's post above, and this thread.
Even if you don't have the surplus income to fully utilise a RS, drip feeding a 5% RS from a 3% or lower current or saving account can be worthwhile, both for the higher interest, and for getting more of your money earning 'good' interest.

I may be thinking of another bank, but was there not talk of closing any accounts over the present allowance of one sole and one joint per customer ?
  • They'll change the name of one of the accounts.

The other one will remain with whatever balance it has in it but clearly the interest will only be calculated on the £1500

Thoughts on closing my Santander account and whacking 20k into premium bonds? I only have 2 DD's coming from there so the cashback doesn't cover the monthly fee. I have all the other usual accounts / regular savers

I'm hoping for an enhanced sign up bonus from someone in January. I've done most of the regulars though, only First Direct and Tesco remaining (unless Lloyds or Barclays do something). I'm hopeful that Clydesdale/Yorkshire will eventually launch a bonus for their 'B' account too.

Atom too, but then I doubt they have sufficient budget for a decent sign up bonus when they launch.
