Smart Parking Ltd and Debt Recovery Plus

Hi everyone
I received a letter from Debt Recovery Plus stating I owe £155 as I 'didn't pay their client' for a parking charge. They claim this happened at a Matalan Store over 2 months ago.
Their client is Smart Parking Ltd. I phoned them, and said I hadn't receive anything in the post about a parking charge. Turns out my dad visited Matalan a few months ago, and used his Disbaled blue badge for parking. Since he didn't tell anyone inside the store, that's why they've originally issued the parking charge. But again, he didn't get anything in the post about a charge. I asked them to prove they had sent the notice in the post, to which the girl on the phoned replied that she is the proof they have sent it. After a few heated exchange of words, I hung up.
Anyway I'm just a little worried about this all. Searching for Debt Recovery Plus online resulted in a whole heap of people stating problems and bogus notices from them in the past. So I just wanted some advice on how to deal with them, and ultimately sort all of this out. I of course do not want to pay a rediculous amount for a 'parking notice'.
Please help!!

Stop ringing them. Tell Dad to ignore the idiots.
Scotland or England?
What happened when you (of course) complained to the retailer? Some Matalan Managers cancel these every week.PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

It was in England. I went to the store and spoke to the manager and he just gave me a leaflet that stated 'Parking charge appeals cannot be dealt in store'. No help at all in store.0

Ignore this then, you missed the chance to appeal and win at POPLA if you never got a PCN.

HTH - do NOT phone them again. DO NOT PAY. Are the letters going to you or Dad?PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

They're going to my Dad as it's his car.
Thanks for your help everyone. Sorry to post another on of these threads! Will be sure to read previous threads first In the future.0 -
Will your Dad be up to ignoring debt threatograms? Some older generation victims of these fake PCNs are suckers for demands for 'debts' & just pay them because they are worried.
If not then write back as him, giving your address as his new address for service. Then you will actually get all the letters and can truthfully tell Dad it is sorted. I am not saying give your name nor to tell them who was driving, not an appeal. You can email DRPlus:
info@drpl.co.uk
but you MUST quote their 'reference' on the letters which is different from the PCN number. Quote both and 'be' your Dad giving your address and telling them not to write to {give the old address as well}.PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).
