I seen this on another comping site but rather than post it up on the board I thought it best everyone discussed first to see what the thoughts are behind it.It seems similar to the daily postcode competition but this one asks for your phone number and there is a daily prize of £10 .There is also a daily prize of £5 that doesn't require a phone number.Am happy if it seems ok for someone to post on the main board but didn't want to myself in case it seemed to dodgy.

Looks/sounds dodgy but the terms all seem to be ok and point to it not being dodgy.
I'm on the fence on this one, I think it looks ok but it's not for me (just in case)

so why have the phone numbers at all if its not to pas on or spam youWhat goes around-comes around0

Apparently it's an easy way for them to give every user a unique number0

You don't have to give them your phone number
"5. If you really don't want to add telephone numbers to your account you don't have to! Every activated account is given a random 9 digit number which is entered into all 'lucky dip' draws."0 -

If you're happy with them selling your phone number to every 3rd party going, go for it!0

It was posted on mse a while ago in the referrers section and I am sure it was mentioned/posted in the comping section as well although I can only find the post in the referrers section.0

I think it's absolutely fine.
It is very similar to the free postcode lottery - funded by advertising alone. You have to check a couple of pages each day to see if you have won, thus seeing the adverts on those pages and generating revenue.
Your phone number is your 9-digit entry into the draw.
eg. If your phone number is 07861367405 then you drop the first two digits and put the others in sequence giving 013456678
Note that this means your number is not unique, as 07861675403 would give the same result.
You can register more than one phone number - both landlines and mobiles. When you register the number they send you a four digit code (by text for a mobile or by automated call for a landline) which you enter on the website thus proving you have access to the phone.
If you are worried about spam or them passing on your details, all I can say is that the T&C and privacy policy are probably the tightest I have EVER seen, there is a full postal address for the company available, and note that you don't even give the site your actual name - just a made up username.
(BTW - it might brighten up my day if one of the PPI claims companies phoned up and
asked to speak to Mr. or Mrs. unstoppablesexmachine)
