Opps sorry about the size but I was playing with zebedy's links to help her get her photos up and I can't alter the sizing. Very nice bag, though. Deserves a big piccie.

Zebedy, I used the method of posting the pic via the 'insert image' icon (looks like a stamped envelope with mountains on it, on the tools above this writing.
There seemed to be parts missing from your link, mine always begin with [URL ....... and ends the same way and I post directly into the post without using that icon.

How I got your on was to leave the http:// part that is already filled in on the 'insert image' pop up box and just paste the link as you gave it in your post.

Just as an aside, and I hope not even more confusingly, but if you want to post a link to an image on a website then generally you can right click on it and then click on 'properties.' After doing that if you copy the URL link and then paste it into the 'insert images' icon above (removing the http:// that is already filled in) then it will pop up on your post nicely.
I do normally mention its from a webside to give them their credit andbe careful if they ask that you don't use their images to obey their wishes.

If that's totally confused a few then sorry. I'm rubbish at explaining things but determined to make sure all that want to post piccies can as I remember how frustrated I was until I spent a week or two learning.:p

• Now Silva, when you try to post your piccies link are you pasting it straight into your post or are you first clicking on the 'insert image' link as mentioned in the above post.
If you are doing the latter you'll get a little box with a cross, like so...

bd4d3d84-376c-4929-93bd-40ed54aa9e4a.jpg

Try posting the link again directly where you would like it to be in your post, without using any icons. like this....

• Hiya

Have not been on here for two days because life got mega busy!! things move fast on here and its taken me an hour and half just to catch up! You folks really are so thrifty and hard working!!

Yes, Cheerfulness - we have one of the lovelyest corner shop owners I have ever known. One winter, when it snowed, I struggled my way down there and Raj said to me would I mind knocking on a couple of doors on my way back up the road to check if the old folks in those houses needed anything. If they did - would I phone the shop and tell them (he offered to pay for my phone call!) then he and his brother would go out in the snow and deliver stuff to them. They had already called a couple of the old folk to say - dont come along for your paper today we will deliver it. People complain about folks of different ethnicities - and when I hear that I always think of this hard working caring family - the shop is open from 6.30 till 9 everyday (less on Sundays) the only day they close is Christmas day. They pay their taxes and are an asset to the community. It should give folks pause for thought!

vhalla1478 - I love Tapenade!!! Will definitely try out this recipe!! Thank you.

NSD for me - had a friend round for lunch - she is really hard up and her pension doesnt arrive until next week - so fed her a roast chicken dinner and sent her home with 'spare' chicken and the 'accidentally' too many veg I had cooked and some bread that I was testing as a new recipe and some cake that 'needed using up'. Hopefully that will help her eek out her food until her pension arrives.

Why is it that spending yesterday £2.65 (bread bits and extra milk and cream) I have enough meals for at least 20 days in the house (main meals not breakfast or lunch!! Although I could probably work round that too - porridge; pancakes; own bread et al) Ok I spent that money earlier on frozen veg and fish. But even so... Must be the old style in me!!!
Take care all
Aim for Sept 17: 20/30 days to be NSDs  NSDs July 23/31 (aim 22) :j
NSDs 2015:185/330 (allowing for hols etc)

• Posting my spends for today before I watch Allotment Challenge on BBC2. :D

So today I spent:

DAY 6

Money Spent Today - £4.10 Vouchers Spent - £0
Money Spent in Total - £16.13 Vouchers Spent in Total - £0
Money left in purse - £1.87 - Float left- £6.13/£15
Jan non-foods left- £4.79/£15

Grocery spends came to £4.10. For that I bought 1pk Tuc crackers @ 64p (Morrisons offer), 1x lemon @ 30p, 1x red chilli @ 10p, 1x garlic bulb @ 25p, 1pk of 6 tomatoes @ 69p, 4 loose mushrooms @ 29p, 2 x large bananas @ 28p, YS pk of 9 Turkey Escalopes @ £1.55.

Non-Foods spends came to £2.59. I bought 1pk of 6 dbl length loo rolls @ £1.95, personal hygiene @ 14p, Dental Floss @ 50p.

Finally from our Extra Float we spent £1.63 on 1pk Cheesy Snack mix @ 48p (morrisons), 100g cashew nuts @ 60p and a Box of Chocolate Brazils @ 95p.

Seeing as DH was not very well and we could only stay out long enough for my parents to get their bits of shopping together, we didn't go for our customary cuppa and cake afterwards so mum gave us 1pk of Luxury Scones, 2x sml uncut Tiger loaves, 2x bottles of pop for DS and a second pack of the YS turkey escalopes as she didn't know I'd seen them and treated us. :D
She also gave me a big tomato the other day when she called but I forgot that. I'm not that fussed about them at the mo but she's got me started with them again and I'm hankering for Herby Tomatoes on Toast for my breakies.
Over the weekend I must pick up Marmite. I am scraping the bottom and sides of the jar at present. Couldn't afford today and know that when I do get it I'll chuck the other jar so I've given myself a couple more days to get every last bit out!

Circular knitting is finally moving along. By jove I think I've got it! :j Well, for the next 9cms I'm fine, after that I don't know. :p

I discovered something interesting called solvent welding plastic a while back, but until this week didn't have any use for it. The rotary washing line plastic 'thing' that supports the arms snapped, so I painted the broken edges with acetone (often sold as nail polish remover) and quickly pushed it back together hard. It worked, a little bead of plastic pushed out the crack and then it set solid. Have to see how it holds up, but so far so good. It has had some heavy washing and seemed fine.

It's surprising what you can fix. Everyone else thought it was finished and we needed a new one. I doubt regular glue would have been sufficient in this case. It does only work for plastics that are dissolved by solvents however.
• That's really interesting Ben84. So all you used was acetone (nail varnish remover) to melt it and then bind the pieces together again or was there another product?

Acetone only. Painted it on to both broken edges with a small paint brush and pressed together fast as it evaporates quickly. If you don't get it first time you can try again, but first time is probably best.

:) That's very interesting about the acetone, something I didn't know. If it stands up to heavy use on your washing line, it's going to be applicable to other things. It would be great if you'd update us later how it lasted.

Very interesting about the acetone. It's a snippet of info that is now stored, thanks.

Were making a space costume pieces out of cardboard, paper, flour and water and paints we already have, this weekend. I could buy one. I'm not buying one. How much fun will DD and I have making it? How much fun will DD and I have shopping for one on a Saturday?
