Hi, I'm going to call Sky but just wondered if this is an issue anyone else has encountered. Might be easy to fix from my end!
Cancelled my Sky package on 13/1 so it's due to be stopped on 12/1. In the meantime my phone/internet will be changed over to plusnet today (hopefully). For the last couple of days we've been able to watch telly but only the subscription channels, all the normal channels just come up as 'no satellite signal received'. Can I fix this?
I should say we don't have a tv aerial here, I can only get tv via satellite so I was going to use my Sky box as my receiver once Sky goes but it appears I may have a problem doing that.
I've reset etc, any ideas?
Thanks

Have you tried removing your viewing card?0
-
No. Was a bit concerned all my recorded programmes would disappear! I've still got a week left to watch them.
Sorry, not very savvy with these things......would removing the viewing card show what I'd have without the subscription? And would I lose my saved programmes?
Thanks0 -

Removing the card will certainly allow you to see what you should see without a sub although there are one or two programmes that you will see with a card.
You will not lose any recordings by taking the card out.
Try rebooting the box as it may just be a glitch.0 -
Ok, have removed the viewing card and rebooted the box and get nothing atall except what I've saved on catchup/recorded. There doesn't appear to be anything changed with the dish. Any ideas?0

go into settings and confirm you have a two good signals.0

All sorted, thanks guys
Had to basically undo everything and then reboot again. Seems to be okay now.
Thanks again x0 -
Hi there Vintage,
I'm thinking of cancelling my Sky TV/Broadband/Phone line too, and just keeping my Sky Box set up for TV. Does that mean you can still view all free view channels without a subscription?
Ideally I want to save costs, signing up with another provider for just phone and broadband, like yourself.26/05/2018 = I DID IT! I am DEBT FREE!
Debts repaid since 06/02/2015 = £23,079
Mortgage...forever!!!! - But who cares, when all I've ever wanted is my own place!:j0 -

You can view all of the Freesat from Sky channels listed here;

However you will lose all the recording and live pause functions. If you wish to keep these you might want to consider a Humax freesat box.0 -
Jem16's right, hence desperately trying to watch everything before it goes. I may replace the box in future but it'd have to be a good deal for me to spend out. We're going to use 'catch up' via the play station and see how that goes

FYI. That list is well out of date, no Motors UK TV and some channels have changed name.0
