summer holiday dates

Options
I am trying to arrange dates to go away in the summer holidays. I was wondering if all schools have the same dates off or if there is a slight difference in the start and end dates.

I am in Norfolk and schools here break up 24th July and return 4th Sept.

Be interested to hear from others in different counties/countries if your dates are the same.

Thanks

    I've been Money Tipped!
Sounds about right. Some schools will break up on the Friday before that and go back earlier in September.

If you're looking for cheaper prices, try going away around 23rd August. Last week of holidays is always more of a bargain.

Leicester = break up Friday 11th July to Thursday 28th August.

I always find holidays slightly cheaper that first week. Now I can see why. Though we took the step kids on holiday that week to Pontins in Southport (was awful but that's a different story) and we did a Tesco shop on the way there, and a few people asked why they weren't in School!

The various school holiday web site is not reliable many schools are doing different dates to the standard dates making the full week off.

If you want a bargain, Princess cruises have some deals in the school hols this year, the Round Britain are the best value, £599pp 22June and 15th Aug for 12nights.(might be further price drops if prepared to wait)

My childrens school finish 11th July till 1st September. They don't have many teacher training days throughout the year so accumulate them at the end of the school year, this is a cheaper week for holidays, however, next summer D.D will be at secondary and will finish a week later.
