Wow I'm in utter shock I've just had a delivery from debenhams, a huge delivery :j:j

I put in an order and had put lots of things in my basket but when I went to the confirm order page I deleted lots of them as I couldn't afford them all. In total I only went for 4 of the items.

I've just all 22 items delivered for the grand total of £11
    Woohoo

Used to be free, now have to pay!

Not allowed to take pictures/video of my own child before or during the performance, yet they have a professional dvd taken that we can buy. How can the former be against child protection yet the latter isn't? It's all about money making!

Not even called the nativity any more, now the Christmas performance.

    Rant over.

Nimum, my son's primary school charged £5 for the Christmas concert but this went into PTA funds for interactive whiteboards so none of the parents mind. They also have to pay for the venue they now have to use due to the high demand for tickets, any props they make and the refreshments they offer at the end so we can all see where the money has gone. I don't know how other schools use the money but I can honestly say I've never heard any parent complain about the cost. I do think however many thought it was cheap compared with the costs involved when the kids were in infant school, that PTA thought nothing of charging £5 to get into the Xmas craft fair  and that was before you paid £2 for tea or a piece of cake

Parents have to fill in a disclaimer now to say whether their child can be photographed/videoed at all in school now. And believe it or not there are parents who refuse so that means that the dvds are editied so that these children are not filmed. Any money that is made is either donated to charity or spent on the children in the school.

We fill these in every year for school, in our after school, youth club and summer scheme too. I fully appreciate those parents/guardians who sign to say no to photos/video, there are many reasons for this from the kids being in care to the adults don't want their kids being recognised by strangers in the street (we're a council run summer scheme).
I think editing video has got to be the hardest but DSes school insist on a passport sized photo being sent in at the start of the year to go in their record to make this easier for the editing team which I thought was a great idea.
The hardest time we have is at council events as it's assumed by the photographers that all kids can be photoed, we have been known to chase them down and force them to delete the photo infront of us:rotfl:

    Had a crazy day yesterday!

1st I had the hand surgeon - discharged for now :T Going to leave other hand at the moment as symptoms have subsided whilst I've avoided lifting boys, pushing pram etc Can just self refer back if it worsens
