AFAIK you must ask the tribunal for the statement of reasons within one moth of the decision being given to you (I suspect that is what JC is getting at).

If the decision was given at end of May, she is now out of time.

This information leaflet may help you to understand the process

I'm a retired employment solicitor. Hopefully some of my comments might be useful, but they are only my opinion and not intended as legal advice.

Hello, your friend could get in touch with Access to Work [google for phone numbers etc.] She may be eligible for help with traveling costs. My employers got a small grant for another employee, 6 hours per week, to support me at work with tasks I cannot do, and I was recently granted help to get to work and back by taxi as there are no buses, I have to claim fares back with receipts at the end of the month. Its not easy to get but worth a try. She could ask her workplace to help with contacting them [ATW] Good luck

that's great, MissJoJo, I never knew there is govt. assistance in this. As she lives in the city, there are lots of buses running her way into the city centre so I'm not sure if she's eligible but she does in the rest of the criteria though.

I recommend saving your money, there's plenty of FREE advice here!

But the quality of the free advice offered here is just very poor at best.
Some of it, especially by self proclaimed experts, is very wrong.

So wrong that I've a mind to think they might work for the DWP or ATOS.

PS. I'm not saying you'll get better advice from any other place.

I see no mention of points - and DLA is not points based.

Then why do you ask the question? There are many here that have tripped the light-fantastic that is ATOS / DWP and have a wealth of experience and knowledge. My post was in protest at someone suggesting that others should go pay a membership fee to gain knowledge that can freely be obtained here, god knows that money is incredibly tight for those in that situation anyway. I too would question where you get the "free advice offered here is just very poor at best" from?
