Lowell Portfolio adding a second default!

You are correct, that was what I am saying. I orginally questioned lowell as they should have amended the current one, not raised a new one, but now it is up to barclays to remove, yes.0 -
So contact Barclays and ask them to remove it on the basis that they have sold it on.Total Debt: £4610.75
Debt Free Date: May 2016.0 -

Thats what I am trying to get experian to do for me, seeing as how I pay them a monthly fee and all. Dealing with things like this is what you pay for, not just to read your credit file.
Bit difficult when even the credit agency doesn't seem to understand the rules regarding defaults.0 -
Ok,
To update on this now dragging on scenario
After much pushing on Experian to actually contact Barclays with regards to getting their default removed or marked satisfied with regards to the duplicate that Lowell have added, they came back with this
" *Barclays Bank PLC (Woolwich) (Account defaulted on 06/05/10)
I have received a reply to the query we raised on your behalf.
Barclays Bank PLC (Woolwich) confirm they cannot amend/delete the entry at this time. They have asked that you contact them directly using the contact details below.
I cannot change this information without their authorisation.
If you wish to dispute this further, you will need to contact them directly."
Now I am not sure what they have said to them, but it cant be what I have been saying to them regarding two defaults for same debt!
So now I will have to write to Barlcays myself to inform them that as they have sold the debt, and another default raised, they have to remove theirs.
Does anyone have a template to use for this, or best way to get this across to them?
This whole affair is becoming much more long winded than it needs to be. If Barclays are saying they cant amend it at this time, I wonder if that means they didnt 100% sell the debt off, but asked lowell to act for them? In which case Lowell would have no right to add a further default!0 -
I would now complain to ICO as it appears you are going in circles with this, ensure that the Lowell default is the exact date as Barclays though, they are not allowed to effectively extend defaults.Excel Parking, MET Parking, Combined Parking Solutions, VP Parking Solutions, ANPR PC Ltd, & Roxburghe Debt Collectors. What do they all have in common?
They are all or have been suspended from accessing the DVLA database for gross misconduct!
Do you really need to ask what kind of people run parking companies?0 -
Just to update
I have checked my credit file today, and noticed that Barclays have removed their default!
I am surprised as I was not informed they were going to do this, and the last communication from them was they are unable to change this!
So a success there, even if it is a bit unexpected
However, looking at the Lowell entry, the default date is still incorrect as it
says 20/8/10!
Original barclay record showed 06/05/10
How can I get this put to the correct date? I have no letters from barclays anymore with the original default date on it to prove the date!0 -

I am having the same problems. One debt Two defaults on my credit file one two years later im fuming and Equifax are just not interested in helping depite paying them £7.50 per month if I wanted to just read a credit report I would pay £2.00 for a statutory one in the post.0 -
This is common procedure for Barclays. To get the initial default removed from your credit report, you'll have to get in contact with Barclays.
I get the impression Lowell is owned by Barclays.0 -
Sorry for the confusion. We introduced a new process for this a while back and I missed this. If a debt is sold to a debt collection company (most of which now take part in data sharing) the original entry is now kept on your Experian credit report marked 'Debt sold to CAIS member'. Importantly, however, only you can see this, not your lenders. The information will not be available through credit checks. The change is designed to enable you to see the full history of the account. It does not affect credit scoring.
