weekend spends.
friday - £5.99 for a car wash and a packet of crisps.
Car wash was needed. only space i could park ws under a tree, i try to avoid this space, even parking 5 streets away, but this was the only space available, and all the birds like to sit at the top of the tree and practice their aim on the car below. as i left work i thought, yes! its too cold for the birds today, until i got to the drivers door. they had decided to squirt me a mural! Everywhere!
It was far too cold for me to hand wash the car, so car wash it was. i read my book whilst waiting

My job can be horrible.
I like my job as in it pays good, the people i work with are great, my office is amazing! (im on my own, so no having to do the whole be constantly nice even when they do that same annoying thing all.day.long.) but we collect council tax arrears. so i work in a debt collection agency, as much as i deny it. (only been here 3 months so far)
Today, somone came in and paid in pennies.
yes pennies.
£80 worth.
according to The Royal Mint website, which both Scottish and English banks direct you to, twenty pennies is legal tender, 21 pennies or more is not, and no where has to accept that as a form of payment.
took two hours to do £40 as i need to answer the phone as well.
I dont gloat over the people who come in here, as many genuinely cant afford to pay much, but they do come in and pay. this one told us over the fone he wasnt paying way back in november, failed to keep to agreement he set up with council, told us he wasnt paying the c/tax, then got more charges due to no payments being made. paid off the c/tax when he realised that council meant business. we called up regarding outstanding fees to be paid, said he would be in today with the money.
I asked him to change it in bank (3 doors away!) said nope, he was paying with pennies and that was that.
i did take the money. he was not happy at having to wait, but i cant take the money without checking it first, and i cant check it unless the person is thier.

Rising from the ashes explained how to put my spreadsheet on! woohoo!!
Council tax is going to be over my predicted amount as i had to pay £300 in Jan, and our tax is going up in April, so will adjust that when the time comes for the new amount being shared.
I have a few areas i need to tweak around, still got some areas to include, like savings, holiday fund, birthday fund for son, and christmas
My anything else is high as i bought my car stereo for £110, over what i wanted to pay, but used birthday money to pay part of it, but as i paid in jan im declairing it. And i have put my Tough Mudder payment in here.
Mobile bill is over this month as i am still waiting on my mum and sister to give me the money that they owe me.Living Simply, not simply living.Weight Loss - 5b/55lb

oooh nearly the end of the month, need to get my spreadsheet completed. this is actually filling me with excitement and dread, as i have spent way too much this month, and March isnt going to be easier. parents anniversary, dads 50th and then mothers day. all 3 in the same week!!!
I am in the process of (in my head) building my own pantry/store cupboard. Living frugally is not helped by my hoarding tendencies and small house, especially when it comes to good offers on long lasting foods like tins of chopped toms.. soo my plan is to re-do my kitchen, on the cheap. I only need to pay out for 2 'white goods'; a new cooker and a new fridge freezer. The oven has broke on the cooker and the fridge is leaking water. so my (in my head) plan is to take out all the cupboards, keep the washing machine where it is, get a range type cooker, then a corner cupboard then an american frdge freezer. where the tumble dryer (that has never been used), fridge freezer and a few cupboards are, take them all out and put up shelves and then sliding doors - Everything will be kept in here all food, cutlery, plates and cups. should stop the place looking soo messy! Aiming to have the pantry part done around easter, and hopefully the rest throughout the year, whilst i wait on my savings to hopefully be enough for a range cooker, i need to buy myself a cheap cooker just now, so a lot of trawling through charity shops till i get one.Living Simply, not simply living.Weight Loss - 5b/55lb

So the bf has been staying at mine all week. he had an argument with his family last weekend and was just appearing at mine in the evening when he had finished work. was a bit annoying, but only as i have never had anyone stay more than a couple of nights at a time, and i am really not used to sharing everything. or everything running out really quickly (toilet roll - seriously, how much does one person use!!!)
This morning he casually asked me how much i want for him staying.. so i told him lots n lots n lots. he told me to have a serious think about it and let him know.
how do i work this out? half all bills? include the mortgage or not?Living Simply, not simply living.Weight Loss - 5b/55lb

Last night i was clearing out the kitchen, and the bf wants to put up shelves, like everywhere. so told him what i am aiming to do, and with a second head opn board, realised its going to cost more than what i thought.
The person who had the house before me tiled around cupboards so if i remove them i need to take down all the tiles and start again.
This is why i dont decorate anything, cause its always more work tahn what you think!!Living Simply, not simply living.Weight Loss - 5b/55lb
