    I'm not sure what you mean. The end of the vent pipe is about 3mm above the water level. The topmost part of the vent runs along the rafters:

    On the basis that the termination is the open end of the vent I don't think thats correct. Surely the 40mm per metre plus 150mm calculation is the correct height for the highest point of the vent above the lowest point in the system. Or have I misunderstood you?

    So change to a type 2 valve and increase the clearance of the vent and I should be OK?

    i always put the highest point of vent normally the bend before it bends down to the tank at 12" above the water level

    No its probably me not explaining myself properly. Its the height difference between the point where the vent makes that sharp bend downwards right up in the roof and the water level in the tank. If your image wasn't so infernally large I'd have annotated it by now and uploaded it again to show what I mean. Be another couple of mins on that methinks with my old steam driven PC. :D

    Hi.

    You need to make sure the vent can't fall out of the clips and dip into the cistern water.

    GSR.
