    please change the record guys
anyone had a shop confirmed today?

especially interested in the berttolli pls i'm a bit of a late starter with that one!

acc to one of the articles they physically send someone round to check prices in morries twice a week, so if someone got the decimal place wrong on checking last time, i wonder if it will be fixed in the next day or two as must be nearing the time for their second shop of the week?

    Good Morning Everyone,
    Hope you are all well.
Does anyone know if the Nivea glitch is still working as it seems to be half price in Sainsburys and also some of it is half price now in Asda/
If so do you know what I need to trigger this. I have a feeling that it might not work as I cant see 3 for 2 anywhere.
    Thank you
    Nivea off...

Its probably common knowledge anyway, but the 1kg bertolli marg thats comparing asda/mossies for 37p. I was in mossies today and its actual price is £3.70....so looks like someone forgot where the decimal place should go when inputting the price!

Hope you don't mind me asking, is this to buy in As and compare against Ms?

    Thanks

Once you get into the relm of Tax etc, if you're VAT registered and have bought products which have VAT, Asda will issue a full VAT receipt at CS. So say you have bought £60 of VAT products the VAT is £10 plus you may get an APG of say £57.

    Who bares the VAT???

If you wanted to run it as a business and then sold them as vat registered you could claim the VAT back as the VAT is listed. You would then make a profit. I dont really know about vat but i think it works like that.

A voucher is as good as cash.

At this point tho.. when you spend £40 there is £8 vat on that. So really asda is losing more.. cos each time I did a £40 shop they would have had to pay £8 vat lol but then again they would have paid the VAT when they would have bought it at the start. so its just passing it along to the end user.

So if you look at this way...

I have helped asda give well over £1500 in vat for the country. I am helping!! Taking from asda and giving it to the VATMAN!
  • Well, I have just sent off the complaint to Thomas Cook about the first outward flight to Cuba, will wait and see what they have to say. Not hopeful to be honest, but if we had turned round for safety reasons rather than operational reasons I would not be complaining.

To sum it up for anyone that has not read the post, we flew out to Cuba on holiday. The flight out was a awful, we spent 2 1/2 hours on the tarmac waiting for them to fix the hydraulics (they took a part off another plane in the end) then about 5 hours into the flight the pilot came on and said he had some bad news and that we would be landing at Gatwick in about 2 hours!!!! Turned out the plane had developed a fault and they had been told by operations to turn round even though the pilot wanted to go on to Cuba, there was no safety issue and it was not an emergency landing. We were told when we were boarding the next day (again!!!) that apparently it was ANOTHER hydraulics issue, and that we had been on the news (though I can find no evidence of this) because we were tipping hydraulic fluid all over Londong and landed with smoking engines (probably fluid got onto them?). Why they could not just have diverted somewhere closer and fixed it I do not know.

Anyway, the woman in the seat next to me was convinced that was the end, and several people did not turn up for the flight the next day, and some were put off by the fact the fire alarm went off in Gatwick while we were waiting for the flight the next day (and it was a real fire, a small one behind McDonalds!!!).

Hence the complaint to Thomas Cook who then added insult to injury - we had a letter from them on our return, thought it would be an apology but instead it was a £50 voucher because we had no entertainment system on the first flight!!! As if we would EVER fly with them again :eek:

Anyway HC (HappyChappy), I did warn you about our holidays before we went - is that evidence enough?:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl: Dread to think what will happen to poor Cuba after that fiasco just getting there!! :rotfl::rotfl:

I too recently had a bit of a run in with the same airline. Started to check in all ok although there was some very heated discussions taking place all around. Ignored it as thought it was nothing to do with me.:( Soon discovered the error of my ways. Stewardess said I need to weigh your handbag & hand luggage. I said pardon? She repeated getting VERY agitated because I didn't comply straight away. She said that will be £120 over weight limit charge:eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::eek:

When I recovered from the shock she said that they charge £15 per kilo over weight for European flights and £17 per kilo long haul.

Mine and OH hand luggage is the normal hard type - nothing special and my handbag is also a fairly normal size. I have never heard of this before.

On talking to other people I found it could have been worse. Some poor woman was charged £142 and another £190 that I spoke to.:mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad:

I have complained but of course got nowhere but would like to know why TC impose charges like this and yet other airlines don't.:(:(:(:(:(

Yes I believe it is, can't take any credit, I believe another MSEr found it vis a womble? not aware of a trigger, but tread carefully as theres no way of checking of its been updated till you do your apg!

Not tried it myself as my adsa doesnt stock that size, just thought it was interesting as celebrate says, mossies doesnt have an online shop, so comparisons are aquired manually by store visits (now that would be a nice job!) and viewing adverts etc, and is updated a couple of times a week.
