I received mine yesterday, so am looking forward to steaming floors, carpets, plus my daughters mattress with it today. I think they say not to use oils, etc just in case they damage the mop, as some can be abrasive, or leave a residue.

I don't think a couple of drops of Lavender oil would do a lot of damage. We'll see.

I got mine yesterday and put some tea tree oil (was all i had!) on the cloth before use and it left a lovely smell as the steam passed through it. No oils inside so no chance of any harm!

I got my mop yesterday and remembering what I had read on this forum about the ball joint I had a good look at it before I put it together. The first thing I noticed was how tight the joint was and it started to creak when I tried to move it, so I got some WD40 and sprayed the joint this helped a bit but it was still being forced to the point of breaking. So knowing that the plastic joint was going to break if I tried using the mop, I thought I would loosen the screws that attached the ball joint to the mop to see if that was the cause of the tightness. I was shocked at how much effort it took to shift the screws and it was obvious that they had been very over tightens.

Once I did this the joint moves freely and I used it on the kitchen, sitting room and hall - all the floors are sparkling clean.

I would suggest anyone getting one of these mops has a quick look at the mop head to see if the ball joint moves freely if not just give each of the 4 screws on the underside two turns and it should move better then.

Thanks OP for finding this mop I love it.

Picked mine up this morning and have just had a go on the laminate floors in my dining room and hall way and the porcelain floor in my kitchen. Think its worked much better on the kitchen floor than on the laminate ones. Tried on a tiny bit of carpet and don't think it did anything.

Also the handle on mine keeps falling apart which is very annoying. Do they all do this, or have I just got a dodgy one.

I've just moved into a house with shiny black mirror-like tiles on kitchen floor. They are a total nightmare to clean! Would anyone know if this mop will be good for this?

I've had these tiles for about three years (worst buy ever!!) and have used everything to try and get the high shiny finish. Best thing to date has been been mopping with scorching hot water and then going over with a microfibre mop and w3aiting for floor to dry which normally takes me about 20 mins to do and half an hour at least to dry!!!

Bought and tried the mop and the floor was dry within 2-3 mins so perfect for these tiles however, you may need to scrub the floors before you try it to take off any residue from old products to get that glossy look

    Hope this helps!!

Picked mine up this morning and have just used it to do all of the laminate floors downstairs.

I am so pleased with it, it's fab :j
I can't believe how much dirt was on the cloth though once i had finished:o

I've just done the main bathroom and my mop cloth thingy is black. Tomorrow I'll use cloth number two on all the laminate downstairs. Well impressed at how quickly the floor dries.

We have a different steam mop and add a few drops of zoflora in to make things smell nice. No damage so far.

    Hi

If there's anyone still interested there were 3 left in Minworth and 1 left in Perry Barr asda. I have bought one and did what natasha8642 said about loosening the screws as the joint on mine was close to breaking before i used it. Worked like a charm :) well worth it. Thanks so much Natasha
