The guys left it for me to post the news as they thought it only right, but my Alan passed away peacefully in my arms at 8pm this evening. He had been getting worse and a little restless, due to lying in the same place all day. When I told the nurses I thought that they would move him around a bit and up his meds again, but, although they straightened him up and made him more comfortable, they didn't need to give him anything else. The nurse told me that he was very near his time. My friend Jenny had been with me since 5.15pm said she would go home to feed her OH and then come back if I needed her. This was at 7.30pm and then, with just the two of us there, I talked and talked and sang and sang to Alan, telling him of all the people sending him good wishes and praying for him, of how I was going to be ok and that Kit and the boy were going to look after me as they'd promised him. The whites of his eyes were very yellow by then and he was very weak, and I couldn't get a kiss out of him anymore but I did get a little response to certain words. His breathing was laboured but he wan't in any pain. His breathing got slower and then he just slipped away peacefully

After saying my goodbyes and texting family and friends, I went to speak to the nurses who told me that as he wanted to be cremated, 2 doctors would have to sign the death certificate and that would be done tomorrow afternoon, so I am to ring the office late tomorrow afternoon to check if that is done

I left, with the nurses keep asking me if I was ok on my own, and came home. How sad is this ...... I went to Tosco on my way home to get some pepsi max for my whisky :o I have just spoken to Kit and Steve who are angels and am off to bed now

Thank you so much for all the support you have given to me and Alan. Can't say much more right now, except that it did help :A

    Goodnight friends :A
