First Time Buyer Stamp Duty, Will it be extended?

the stamp duty relief for first time buyers ends on the 24th of this month, does anyone think it may be extended in the up coming budget?

    Was announced in November it wouldn't.

    As a first time buyer I hope not. Looking forward to cheaper properties after the stamp duty deadline.

    If it is extended I feel sorry for all those ftbs who rushed in and were held hostage with higher prices from sellers.

    It was announced that it wouldn't be extended. That doesn't mean that there won't be a suprise change of heart on the 21st though. Just have to wait and see.

    You won't beat the deadline now if you are looking to.
  • My wife and I had an offer for a house accepted on Monday 27th Feb.
    having done the valuation earlier in the week we've just had a mortgage offer issued. We didn’t plan to beat the SD holiday and agreed not to place any hasty offers just to beat the deadline however things just happened. There is a real chance we could beat the deadline…..so fingers crossed!!
