Thank you for the help I have already been given with my printer connection. Ive spoken to Lexmark support and now have the printer installed.
Which leads me to the next problem.
I need ink! I remember previously buying a cartridge from Tesco which was a lot cheaper than the Lexmark equivalent. I know the Lemark cartridge is #1.
I can still order the cartridges from Lexmark but Im trying to find a compatable 'own brand' one I can buy over the counter rather than online as I could do with it asap. When I look at the Tescco website the cartridges they supply dont mention my printer number which is Z735 so Im wondering if its no longer possible to buy a compatable one. Is anyone savvy with these things and can advise please. Thank you.

Swingaloo,
I have used "Inkclub.com and mymemory.co.uk" for previous inks. I must say that lexmark and dell were some of the most expensive inks to replace. I now have Cannon (for photos) and a Epson (general printing) and both have individual ink colours so that you only replace what has run out, not the whole colour cartridge.
Run the cartridge numbers through Martins Mega Shopbot and you may find a better price than either of the two I mentioned. Also don't forget Quidco for cashback, other sites avalible...0 -
As long as you or Lexmark did not install a firmware update as part of getting it to work, there are a number of compatible ink suppliers, though this one says guaranteed to work in your Lexmark Z735

One of our customers played hell with Lexmark when they inadvertantly accepted the offending firmware update, they reversed it and he successfully uses refilled cartridges again.
Lexmark No1 is a very common cartridge, I'm suprised Tesco don't sell a compatible version anymore, any of the online stores will do these or you could try your local cartridge refilling shop as they will fill your empty cartridge.I hate football and do wish people wouldn't keep talking about it like it's the most important thing in the world0 -

Lucky it is reversible, most firmware updates are not, and they said that it wasn't at first0 -
I've always used inkcycle.co.uk
I think every now and then when you get 'recycled' or 'compatible' cartridges you get a duff one - but most of the time they are great - and it sure beats the cost of the originals. I read once somewhere that printer ink was more expensive then champagne!0 -

I think our customer had some sort of legal background so was able to argue his way through the bull !!!! , what I do know is the Lexmark are being investigated by the OFT over this firmware update, it is technicaly ilegal.I hate football and do wish people wouldn't keep talking about it like it's the most important thing in the world0 -
