"www.cashbackkings.com is independently ranked by Money Saving Expert Martin Lewis as one of the top cashback sites in the UK. "oakhouse13 wrote: »For the record, according to Martin Lewis, 90 - 95% of cashback is paid out.

He also claims that cashback came about because of this site.

"Remember cashback is only paid if the comparison service can actually administer the switch for you (i.e. if it lists the provider with an ‘apply’ not an ‘enquire’ button). Don’t let cashback be the deciding factor though; long term cheaper bills are more important.
Historically, cashback started due to this site."
Just wanted to clear up some of the info here which is quoted wildly out of context
1. The cashback that this site had a big hand in starting is the kind that comes with Energy Switching - not Quidco/Topcashback style, so to bring that up here is both disingenuous and just plain confusing.
Also, as you note yourself, we say that the cashback should never be the deciding factor, only a bonus. This is stance we have always had and continue to stick to now, so thanks for flagging it up.
2. That Cashbackkings piece is from 2008. Not only does that make it well ou of date, it is also extremely clear in the linked to article that such a ranking was made ONLY on the amounts of cashback available. Any output we produced on it had all the important warnings about cashback not being guaranteed.
Currently, and for a good while, Topcashback and Quidco have been our 'top picks' - but we would never relax the warnings even with these sites.

Dan,
One last thing would you please clear up.
How much does Moneysavingexpect (Martin Lewis) will lose if rpoints.com goes bust?
We all know that rpoints.com was a 50/50 share and that of the 50% to rpoints.com was shared to moneysavingexpert.com
so how much??0 -
So, have some special people long had advanced warning of this and thus would have got all their big cash owed out in plenty of time?
While regular forum users just get ripped off as usual?
Below I copy from rpoints forum, from a couple of users claiming they were amongst the chosen ones kept in the know and so were sent these emails (my underlining).
http://www.rpoints.com/bb/viewtopic.php?t=1213453I had this on 13th October
Hi,
Just spoke to Richard in complete confidence
So please don’t post this on the forums.
There is an EGM on Monday to discuss Insolvency
Even if that’s not agreed it still might not be enough
Because the Tax man And The landlord are both chasing after debts.
I would urge all of you not to make any more purchases
Even daily clicks, because you probably won’t get your money.
This applies to both Cashbackkings and Rpoints
But not to ,,,,,,,,, This is a separate company
And then this on 20th October. ( Lips were sealed on 27th October and 4th November Rolling Eyes )
Not for the forums
There is a now a firm acting as arbitrators for Rpoints and
Looks like we won't know the final outcome
For a couple of weeks0 -
Did anyone else get these warnings?
Approx 10 R-Points long term Forum regulars + myself were on an email list which originated from another prominent R-Points forum regular as can be seen by these MSE links, warnings were posted on MSE although clearly nobody could say that bust was definately going to happen, that would have been called "hearsay".

At least one member has posted to say he/she was on the email list ( only registered and logged in members can view the thread titled Important Announcement re: Rpoints Limited - PLEASE READ )

( A couple more to leave nobody in doubt the validity of the emails, would like to mention that none of the emails state that they are for the intended receiptent only nore are they marked Private and Confidential, I neither asked to be on the mailing list nore was my permission gained to be on it )

Subject: Some friend
Hi, ....., I see some of the emails marked for our eyes only have turned up on the Rpoints forum.
Well all I can say is you need to prune your list of friends and remove the one who does not know what "do not post this on the forum" means.
I took it to mean for our eyes only (i.e. those you addressed it to) and did not breath a word of it, even to internet friends.
It is sad that what has happened to RPoints, but even sadder the nastiness on the forums.
Hugs,.......

Hi,

Don’t think there’s anything said that’s too dammin for me
But I suppose if Richard’ sees it
He won’t be too happy
What cam you do?

Cashback Kings was only launched in 2008 so would have failed an established tried and tested criteria straight away, sadly many people will believe that all positive publicity via MSE for both CBK and R-Points aka free/cheap publicity had more to do with apparent fact that R-Points was affiliated to MSE.
If you think about it we arent talking about 1998, we are talking 2 ( two) years ago. :eek:0 -

What makes me laugh the most is the RICHARD YENDALL has had a disagreement with 3 other shareholders for over 7 months now and that his new site imutual.com is infact shares. i would rather use quidco/topcashback and get the cashback i have earnt.
I just hope that people that get burnt at rpoints.com and cashbackkings.com do not use imutual.com without the truth!0 -
I am also interested in why the site now using another aff link to a 3rd party? I wonder if its banging imutuals one... giving him a boost!! while 99% of the members do not use the forum they will be unaware about this. AND KEEP USING THE SITE!! and thinking they will be paid!! totally dishonest!! why not put a message in red on EVERY PAGE!!0

Bahaha, I had £25 awarded *today*. Brilliant timing.
To be fair though, even if it was a day earlier I still wouldn't have noticed it.0 -
luckily I'm one of those people who claims my cashbook as soon as it goes over £10 and I've had a couple of transfers in the last month. Thought it was a bit weird that I'd suddenly been awarded £60 that's been under claim since August last year! I guess they want to make their creditor total look as high as possible.0
-
I'd never bothered to claim cashback from them as it wasn't a lot but in the last few months have done quite a lot through them and it jumped to just over £50. Didn't go back to check whether it was ready to be paid until I saw the news today and of course it was. The fact that some people have been prewarned just shows the people in charge didn't care about the those who provided them with a living. Hopefully his new venture will be a complete failure, its what these kind of people deserve.0
