I have had a few queries about reindeer heads for Reindeer poop bags .... these are a few of the Christmas embellishments I have picked up so far this year..... it's early days .... and I reackon once halloween is out of the way all the Pound/bargain shops will be awash with stickers etc we will be able to adapt for our sweetie bags.
These are wooden embeshments available from Hobbycrafts and other craft shops - I paid £1.50 for a pack of 6.
These two sheets of largish stickers are from 1 pack - which is a bargain at £1.00 - from Poundland/Home Bargains etc ..... I have seen these in quite a few of the Bargain Shops
These Accessorize stickers are tiny ..... I will use them on my round mint sweetie bags and on Cadbury minatures they are £1.75 a pack ......
I rave about Accessorize Stickers (look in the childrens section) but this year they have been a little disappointing.
Hope this has been of some help ...... if I (or anyone else) sees any good reindeers stickers embellishments for reindeer poop let us all know.
BUT ...... if you are on a tight budget - you've only got to put in reindeer head/rudolph in a search on Google images to find lots of pictures you can cut out and use ..... just add a red flat backed gem or small red button for a nose to make them extra special.0 -
i've just had an email from papertole (a cheapish crafting website) and the lead thing on the email are A4 sheets of die cut scalloped circles!! How spooky!!
Heres the link - http://www.papertole.co.uk/clearance.cfm if anyone is interested, I've just bought some of the scalloped ones and the plain ones and a few other bits. It would be more prudent to buy the punch for future use but to have a play and see if they turn out ok, 29p a sheet is fine for me to pay! theres £2.50 p&p as wellYou're so very special, I wish I was special :dance:0 -
Helen thanks for keeping the thread as updated as you have with all our ? & queries. I am glad you are doing a frugal bag make as not everyone has £ to shell out this side of christmas. Even frugally they can look just as appealing I'm sure so we can all make them in 'our' style, look forward to the pics.
Everyone is posting some really nice makes I MUST make a start on something soon!!!!!0 -
Thank you Hogshead -
I am trying my best to keep everything up to date ....and in fairly ship shape order .... and help where I can .... I have been on other threads on other forums that sort of lose their way .... and drift off at tangents.... I knew when I started the thread that it would be a job and a half.
Hope we can keep things rolling with lots of new ideas until Christmas .....0 -
I got candy canes at Matalan today. Tropical multi-coloured so not quite the Christmas ones I wanted but I bought them just in case I don't see any more. I had no idea that What Everyone Wants was still on the go! Ours closed down years ago and I have seen any others.
I have a Cricut and it's excellent but I really should use it more. I'm sure I would if I had space to leave it out all the time.0 -

Some fab makes - I have picked up a few sheets of stickers here in the US and will be testing out some of the ideas here when I get home!!! I've also bought a Cuttlebug and various dies so am all set to go!!! Oooh I've also got Mod Podge to play with as well!!!!
I love the candy cane mouse, lovely idea!!
Sorry - my thanks button is not working. It shows but then when I click it the whole thank you bit disappears and then when I refresh it comes back without registering my thanks - weird! The E-mail of the species is more deadly than the mail.0 -
yes please, I'd love the instruction please CT
Loving all the great ideas on here :T
Hi Rosie Ben,
Here are the instructions to make my post-it holders. They look great but I have to warn you it does take time to create all the different mats, before you stick it all together.
Have fun if you make them.
x2016 is the year I am going to find time for me, and cherish the time I spend with my friends and family. It is also time to save - Aim £4,000 - So far this year - £230/£4,0000 -
Hollie – fab box and tea/coffee holder. They look fab xx
Butterscotch – fab snowman soup and gift card holders, love the design of the holder. Can you share where the instructions are from to make the gift card holder? Great idea for an advent calendar too.
Thanks for all the advice Helen. Love your candy mouse.2016 is the year I am going to find time for me, and cherish the time I spend with my friends and family. It is also time to save - Aim £4,000 - So far this year - £230/£4,0000 -
OK ..... here it is ..... be prepared for a long post ..... How to make sweetie bag toppers without the aid of punches, label dies etc.
I just hope I've got it in order ...
I think its best to start with the cello bags - get the size you want and make the topper to fit them (much easier that making a topper and then searching for a bag to fit it)
To fit my chosen bag size I have cut a rectangle a little wider than the bags
Find the centre of your rectangle and mark each end .. keep the ruler in position and score from one end to the other with the end of a pair of scissors
When scored fold in half
If you want a fancy shape, hold the topper together and cut both edges off the corners of one side.
Take one of the cut off corners and put it on the opposite side of the topper and use as a template to make sure both sides are exactly the same.
Your topper should look like this now ....
Now for the decorated circle - find two circles one smaller than the other .... I have used the metal top of this small jam pot for the outer circle and the top of the glass jar as the inner circle.
Cut out the circles in two different colours
I've used white and dark blue, then added a some pale blue for sky
Put some little lines using a fine black pen round the edge of both circles. Then add what ever embellishment you fancy. I have used snowman stickers from Accessorize (£1.75 per pack)
And added a few flat backed gems for buttons (wheel of small gems by Anita's about £2.99)
Now to put it all together
Put some lines round you topper to match your decorated circle
Fill your bag with sweets and cut down to size
Open up your topper and put double sided tape on each side
Tape tape off one side, and lay your cello bag on top
Bring the other side of the topper down, press down and seal...... nearly finished .....
Stick you decorated circle in position, write your greeting and add a few smakk stickers/stars etc. and fiddle and twiddle till you are happy.
Thats all there is to it! Phew !!!!0
