This weekend, get TWO fascinating picture supplements showing Scotland's cities from the air. Inside The Scotsman on Saturday 9 October get Part One - 32 pages of Edinburgh, Stirling and Dundee from a very different perspective.
Then the following day, inside Scotland on Sunday, get Part Two featuring stunning aerial photography of Aberdeen, Inverness and Glasgow. The supplements include previously unpublished imagery and fascinating historical photography of our cities, and are not to be missed. Free inside every copy of The Scotsman and Scotland on Sunday this weekend.

Above Scotland - Cities Part Two
    Sunday 10 October

    Aberdeen.jpg
    Aberdeen
The arrival of the oil barons transformed the city harbour once again. Enormous investment in infrastructure created one of the most modern ports in Europe, with extensive facilities provided for deep-water berthing and ship repair. Aberdeen emerged as a state-of-the-art gateway to the North Sea – a staging post for the speculators in black gold, and a frontier boom-town for the twentieth century.

    Inverness.jpg
    Inverness
The urban gateway to a north Highland landscape, the city of Inverness spreads across the area where the River Ness, Beauly Firth and Moray Firth meet and the Kessock Bridge carries the A9 over the water.

    Glasgow.jpg
    Glasgow
Flanked by the great bowed roof of Queen Street Station and the monolithic bulk of the City Chambers, the open space of Glasgow’s George Square is the symbolic civic and political heart of the city. See superb aerial shots of Glasgow in Part Two.

FREE, INSIDE EVERY COPY OF THE SCOTSMAN AND SCOTLAND ON SUNDAY THIS WEEKEND.
