    I don't want to trivialise people's debt struggles as a spectator sport, but the diaries are entertaining as well as informative / motivational.

    I for one have gone back to read diaries "from the start" when I have been interested by something a poster said, and I could see how a book format would be ideal for presenting their stories, and is a bit more user friendly than trawling through the forum.

    This is my point exactly. Because it is public and free I don't think anyone should have to pay for a book.

    But that could apply to every and any topic. All of the information is free on the internet but people still buy books.

    OK folks I will raise it with my literary agent - I think she thought she'd never hear from me again!

    And of course we'll have confidentiality protocols, the writing will be tidied up - but don't think moaning about ironing is always boring - thats some of the charm (and hypno sorry but you were actually the one who made me think of this)!

    I think its a brilliant idea, its the diaries that got me to face reality and relise that there was a way out of my situation. the more information out there the better. I would be happy for my diary to be used but its a bit boring as I left out a few of the more dramatic events so I couldnt be identified! With only £2000 left of my debt I hope it would help others to see that there is a way out.

    I think such a book would have the potential to be a best seller, however, care would need to be taken when choosing what bits to include. Whilst the diarists themselves might be ok with their posts being put into print, some of the people posting on those diaries might have a problem with it. I think the author would have to sit down with each diarist and select the extracts to be included. Certainly it would be as good as, if not better than, a lot of so-called motivational stuff on the bookshelves at present! Can I be in the queue for a first edition autographed copy please?!?

    A lot of people like reading how other people have reached their target instead of chicken soup for the soul, chicken soup for the bank balance. Go for it.

    If you use Hypnos you will need to make it a trilogy! it is her diary that was one of the first to inspire me, im trying not to read it now as it made me buy shred. All the other bits helped though, shred is my daily torture as it wouldnt be very MSE to buy it and not use it.

  • I think its a great idea.

    I do write a diary and I whinged alot on it! (trying to be more positive now :) )

    It amazes me that people read it because it is only a place where I get 'stuff' out of my head and into plans of action.

    Would I choose to tell 'the world' I am in debt....no! Would I worry about people who bought a book about LBM's and debt journeys identifying me (if I were in it) nope because it wouldn't happen, change a few details and I am like 1000's of others.

    Would it sell - for sure. Reading the diaries has made me cry, feel sad and laugh from my belly!

    And if one more person sorts their debt ridden life - Success!

    Challenge = Debt at 31/01/12 = £25k. 2011 Payments = £1,944.19/£24,403.84

    There is no point in negative thought, it takes up time and energy which could be used in a positive, happy way!
  • i also think its a great idea.... real life...real people....real unique characters..... real situations... facing up to their debt.....attacking it head on... & debt busting.... this is not theory but real time actual situations......
