in Credit cards
Just wanted to say thankyou again for the help and advice throughout the year it is really appreciated! It has made all the difference getting that note off my credit file.
Today is the first day that I have an absolutely clean credit file as the last of my three defaults has been removed
I still have my 2 sub-prime cards.
Vanquis has gone from £250 limit less than a year ago to £1750 now and the gold card.
Capital One classic has gone from £1000 to £1500.
And my Flybe Card £1000 to £1300.
My experian account is cleared and I am just waiting for a copy of the Equifax one.
I have itchy fingers already. Any ideas of what prime card I may be accepted for now? Mbna/Egg/Tesco might be dodgy as thats who my defaults were with.
Once again cheers mate

Congrats on a good credit file xD0

May i ask you, how did you managed to get the three defaults removed? It is worth trying applying for tesco as they would have amended the default record on their system in your name. I cannot see why they can't say no.
I'm happy you got a clean credit file at long last! Just make sure you don't trash it up again!!0 -
The defaults dropped off after their 6 year course. So if I applied with Tesco they wouldnt be aware of the default and it wouldnt affect their decision?
How would this fare with RBS?. I am assuming that this would have been on both systems as at the time when I had a loan with Tesco it was part or RBS then. I have a current account with rbs and my recent account conduct is well. Was bad a few years ago though but not been overdrawn or had anything bounce since.
There is no way I will trash up my credit file anymore. Have had to wait so long for it to become clean and im not as foolish as I was 6 years ago. It would have been better for me to have banned me from credit until I was 21 as those teenage years I just didnt have a clue ;p0 -
don't assume that Tesco will not hold your adverse history on their own systems, that history PLUS your credit history will be used to score your application. Might be better to apply outside your original card providers.0

Well perhaps I will give tesco a miss unless anyone knows for sure.0

Mate do not do it, they may still have a record so best not to rush things. To be honest you'd be best trying Sygma as they are accepting a lot lately - but don't rock the boat cos they *can* keep records for 6 years PAST the closure date, to comply with HMRC regs.
You will be erased from their systems, i'm sure - but leave it until you at least have a few prime cards before worrying about it.2010 - year of the troll

I have got the sygma card have had that ages before it got fashionable.
Am hoping to cancel my capital one card though and replace it. I will keep the vanquis now that I have a £1750 credit limit and the gold card as they do seem to be increasing it lots every few months.
Are Halifax easy to get accepted for? I have lots of green o's on my credit file (experian) now from next, vanquis, capital one, mbna, sygma, and cahoot. No missed payments or defaults and just a couple searches from 10 months ago.
What cards do you have now btw? Been upto anything lately?0 -

Well I want a new current account, and a couple prime cards would be nice so I think I should give it a go.
Still need to avoid Equifax though so just will stick to experian only cards. My default was due to come off on the 5th so just need equifax to update their records. My equifax file isnt so clean though have a few 3 and 4 's for one account from years ago so that may hold me back for a bit.
You not applied for anything that I dont know about?0 -
Got accepted for a Bank of Scotland credit card. Just need to wait and see what the Apr is and whether I get one of the 0% deals. The credit limit is rather poor though just £17000
