often wait for cheques to show as "being processed" before moving funds over from the e-saver.

BLF and others - do you do the same for any direct debits as well? or is it best to transfer the day before to the flexaccount for DD?

Funds need to be there the day before unless your OD covers the amount.

While that is correct according to Nationwide official rules, where i post a cheque, I always log in to Flexi account every day and when I see the cheque is "being processed" I move the funds from E-Saver - Flexi Account which has always worked irrespective of whether an O/D covers the amount involved, as cleared funds have reached the account before the cheque has actually cleared. ( "being processed" is not the same as "having been processed" and ive previously produced a screenshot proving this)

E-Saver movements are instant so its obvious that an instant cleared credit movement will cover a "being processed" debit, of course Nationwide cant be held responsible if such plans dont work out for whatever reason.

Direct debits I make sure funds are in the account before the due date.

Very slow here too both Nationwide and my brain.

Do you know about debit card debits from Flex - can a esaver to flex be made minutes prior to using a debit card?

I always make sure cleared funds are in the account before I give debit card instructions to be on the safe side. ;)

Someone else has previously posted on a similar thread confirmation from Nationwide as to when cleared funds have to be actually in the flexi account to avoid being charged. ( cheque transactions) Hopefully that poster will repost the confirmation.

Obviously if I had a cheque "being processed" today and I was unable to move the required funds from E-Saver due to Nationwide Computer/Server problems then it would be my faullt for leaving matters to the very last minute.
