Wind-up threads

Is it me being cynical, or are there lots of wind-up threads at the moment? Lot's of first time posters. Same person?

Maybe I'm paranoid. ;)

It's half term so the teachers are bored.

It's not even like the wind ups have got a decent punchline. I wouldn't mind if they were funny.
  • if you are referring to me, then i am not winding anyone up, i want to serious advice to a problem.

  • Have also noticed this and lots of posters on here being nasty and trying to bring down others ... and a few self appointed moderators who have nothing nice to say but point out other peoples genuine errors ....

To all of them out there (you know who you are !!) give it a rest ... we are all on here to give and receive advice , not to constantly come across these negative posts.

If you can't say anything nice, then there is really no need to say anything at all.

You do understand this thread is about made up trolling posts........? Do you expect people to be nice to them all the time?
Freedom is not worth having if it does not include the freedom to make mistakes.

I prefer a good wind up to endless "Prices have risen/fallen 0.01% last month proving we are in a boom/crash" threads. The secret is to make it almost believable.

The ones that really annoy me are the "We are first time buyers, how can we force the unreasonable vendor to accept our offer 25% below asking price, when we know they paid £10,000 less for it two years ago" threads.
    Been away for a while.

No, trolls should be shut in a box and never fed. I was referring to the non trollers who post downright nasty posts :D

No, but this does (if you're not a wind up merchant):
ive heard that lots of these BTL merchants havnt told their mortgage companies that the properties are being rented out, and if they get repossed you are kicked out before the end of the contract.

can i demand to see the details of the status of the flat, e.g if it mortgaged and what type of mortgage ?

the type of flat I am aiming for is a manchester city centre new build, so hopefully i should be able to find someone willing to rent as they all seem pretty desperate, but considering the state of this market, the owners of these properties are the ones most likely to be in trouble.

If you genuinely need help, there are ways of asking:
