i know on the other thread that there has been talk of moving into a caravan so mot will get housed quicker the only problem with that is that mot will have to prove it was her only option as housing or the councill will say that she made herself live in cramped condition and there for will not be entillted to extra points for it i know this as this is what happened to one of the mums down my dd school once she found that out the hard way she soon rented a house i tell you it is near on impossable to get councill housing anywhere in the area mot and i live her best bet is to re rent somewhere privately socail loans and grants will help with the deposit and wait to be evicted without rent arears this is what i am doing and i tell you the rent on my place is a big wieght around our necks
i cant slow down i wont be waiting for you i cant stop now because im dancing

The problem is if you take a short term rent then Dacorum will say that you knew that it was short term and you have chosen to make yourself homeless by this decision. This is what happened with MOT's landlord. He said in evidence at the appeal that MOT had signed an agreement with a clause in it that allowed buyers to be shown around, therefore she knew it was short term, therefore she knew she would soon have to move on.

Its all very difficult and I wonder if finding a private landlord willing to take her on for the long term is the solution. If the Christians Against Poverty group are supporting MoT to make sure her rent is paid (as currently), I hope that there is a christian landlord (in the charitable sense) prepared to take MoT on.

  • Still here, still following the thread, and shocked beyond belief. If I can do anything to help, please let me know.
Today, my BEST is good enough.
  • I was discussing this situation with my daughter having thought about it all the way home from work, when it hit me that the council had forgotten the most important fact in all this.
THEY HAD FORGOTTEN THE NEEDS OF THE CHILDREN:mad: IN THEIR SHORTSIGHTEDNESS OF WANTING TO PUNISH THE MOTHER THEY IGNORED THE OVERRIDE NEED TO PROTECT HER CHILDREN, SURELY IN THE EYES OF THE LAW THEY HAVE FAILED IN THEIR DUTY UNDER THE HOUSING CHARTER. TWO CHILDREN WILL NOW BE FORCED OUT ONTO THE STREETS

MOT come Monday 12pm pack you bags and get yourseLF around to the housing office, dont budge until they are forced to give you some kind of accommodation for you and your kids.

Has no one thought to send MOT's link to the Daily Mail, Express Newspapers. DM would have a fieldday with the council over this!

MoT has exhausted her application for accomodation under the Council's Homeless obligations.

Social Services may be able to help.

Have you read all the old thread, AMD?
