Unfortunately, there is no requirement for them to quote the cost of calling such numbers at all so they can get round the ASA 'advice' by simply not quoting any price.

David Derbyshire's 6/8/05 article in the Daily Telegraph was immediately above two quarter-page advertisements - both of which quoted 0870 contact numbers and neither of which mentioned the cost of calling (i.e. that, for most [more than 9 million] BT residential customers on BT Together Option 1, the cost of calling on a weekday would be more than 2½ times the cost of calling an 01/02 number).
Their - possessive pronoun (owned by them e.g. "They locked their car").
They're - colloquial/abbreviated version of 'They are'
There - noun (location other than here e.g. "You can buy groceries there") OR adverb (in or at that place e.g. "They have lived there for years") OR adverb (to or towards that place e.g. "Go there at noon") OR adverb (in that matter e.g. " I agree with you there").

I think you will find that the CAP Executive no longer allow Advertisers to be silent about the price of a call.A few complaints are needed so they can rule on them.

But how does this differ from Ofcom's proposals of giving pricing information? Does it just cover a different area?

What I mean is, we haven't had a response from Ofcom on its NTS Options for the Future consultation.

None the less, this is good news. I just hope companies who don't follow the rules will be delt with accordingly.

My local post office used to have its own phone no on cards put through the letter box to say they'd tried to deliver something when we were out. Now it has an 0845 no and you have to go through a stupid central automated thing.

If you're likely to need to phone your sorting office, I recommend you get the no out of the phone book before the next one comes out because it's likely to have the central no listed.

I have to phone them a lot, so I wasn't going to let that slip! :D
May all your dots fall silently to the ground.
