Tesco Clubcard Credit Card - How Do The Points Work?

Hi All,
I've been using a Tesco credit card for the last month or so, but I just wanted to check if I'm doing things right with regards to getting my Clubcard points!
The bit I'm confused with is how it works when I spend on it at Tesco ironically.
To make sure I get all the clubcard points that I'm entitiled to, do I need to still hand over my normal clubcard so that the points get added and then pay with my Tesco credit card or does paying on the credit card sort all of the points out automatically as its linked to my clubcard?
The only thing that got me thinking about this was say I didnt have the Tesco CC and instead used my egg card, I would get the clubcard points in the normal way plus the cashback benefit of the egg card, so surely this gives me the clubcard points plus more clubcard points for the spending on the Tesco CC on top?

The Tesco credit card works like a combined credit card and clubcard linked to your clubcard account.
Technically what happens is that your credit card number gets added to your clubcard account as a linked clubcard. Therefore, when you use your credit card it is recognised by the tills as a clubcard first and then a credit card. (You can even use your Tesco credit card as a clubcard and then pay with cash or even another credit card to get your normal clubcard points so you do not need to carry your clubcard any more.)
On the points side of things, you will get the same standard clubcard points whether you use your clubcard or your Tesco credit card.
You also get extra clubcard points for spending on your Tesco credit card wherever you shop (not just Tesco).0 -

Leaving aside the 'ordinary' Club Card points for shopping in Tesco, the 'additional' points awarded by Tesco Personal Finance are as follows:-
Tesco Mastercard: At Tesco - 6 points for every £4 you spend
(older type)
Outside Tesco - 2 points for every £4 you spend
Tesco Bonus: At Tesco - 4 points for every £4 you spend
Credit Card
Outside Tesco - No Points
* One interest payment back per year*
Tesco Clubcard: At Tesco - 5 points for every £4 you spend

You will also get two sets of quarterly clubcard statements through. One for the "normal" tesco shopping, and one from Tesco Finance for what you have accrued by using your Credit Card.

I have just got off the phone from the second person at Clubcard. I have an old style Mastercard. The first CS assured me that using my Tesco Credit Card, which is also my Clubcard, in store, gives me just 1 point per £1 spend. I don't get anything from TPF. I told him I was sure he was wrong, and asked to speak to a supervisor. After waiting 10 minutes, I hung up. The second CS assured me I get 1 point in store for my Clubcard and 1 TPF point per £1 spend. He also said that from Monday, I will be getting 2 Clubcard points per £1 spend in store.
However, from what you state above, and this is what I was always led to believe, the TPF Mastercard (older type) gave 3 points per spend in store.
I do wish people at Tesco knew what they were talking about!0
