YBS will increase their rates to .25% this Sunday

Hi to all MSE'rs

I went to our local YBS branch to open a regular saver and was told by the staff that they are increasing their rates by .25% this coming Sunday.

I still could not find this information on their website but consider this a very reliable source and a very good news indeed.

The YBS internal communication (that I've just had read out to me over the phone) says...

Following the BOE rate increase on 11th January, the society will be increasing the rate on all* it's variable rate savings accounts by 0.25% from Sunday 28th January 2007.

Therefore, the rates will go to...

Internet Saver: 5.55%
Regular Saver: 7% (3.5% + 3.5% bonus)
eISA: 5.65%

I have had an email from YBS saying exactly what YorkshireBoy has quoted. This is definitely good news, at least for me. :T

The info regarding Yorkshire BS' savings rate increases has been added to the Thisismoney 'Has your savings rate risen' page, here.

I'm so glad I opened the YBS regular saver back in August!:D As it will be matching Halifax's regular saver rate from this weekend. I bet the YBS regular saver will become very popular on MSE now.

I would have never considered this account but the way things are going, it's definitely one I am glad I opened.

If it does get to 7% it will match my Halifax one which is maturing in March. I don't know if I'll bother opening another one of those, though

Is it possible to view the YBS Regular Saver balance online or do you just have to get your passbook updated?

I do have a YBS e-ISA.
