Vanoonoo, Exactly and funny enough the sauce on your link is the one I have in the fridge.

If you like jerk here is a recipe that I have done many times for barbi's. Went down particularly well with my neighbour who was Jamaican.

    Jerk Marinade

    1 Onion, finely chopped
1/2 Cup of scallion (sping onion)
    2 tsp fresh thyme
    1 tsp salt
    2 tsp sugar
    1 tsp jamaican pimento (allspice)
    1/2 tsp ground nutmeg
    1/2 tsp ground cinnamon
1 hot pepper, finely ground (think I used crushed pepper here)
    1 tsp ground black pepper
    3 tbsp soy sauce
    1tbsp cooking oil
1 tbsp cider or white vinegard

Mix all together, can be stored in fridge for about a month

    Glazed Spareribs

    6lbs Pork Spareribs
    1 1/2 cups Jerk Marinade
2 cups of Apple Jam (I am wracking my brains trying to remember what I used as an alternative, might have been mano chutney or something)
    1 Cup of Water
    1 tsp curry powder

Combine spareribs with marinade and marinate in fridge for t 2 to 3 hours.

Preheat oven to 350 F. Arrange marinated spareribs meaty side down on a baking tray. Bake for 1 hour, turning once, this can be done the day before.

Prepare glaze, combine jam, water and curry powder in a small saucepan. Bring to boil and cook for 3 mins. Put ribs on grill, meaty side up, spread glaze over lightly, turn and reglaze. Cook for 5 or 10 mins and glaze again just before serving.

I am sure that the slow cooker guru's amongst you will be able to adapt the oven part for slow cooker. These are lovely ribs, however, its been a while since we have done them. I also used to do some really nice lamb burgers but have managed to lose the recipe. So now I make beef burgers, with a surprise cheese filling inside. Ooh roll on summer. Don't even ask me about my boston baked beans (another favourite of my friends). This is what comes from living in the US, barbi's were a big favourite. Ooh just thought of another one, dead simple, chicken breast, sprinkled with garlic salt and topped with a slice of cheese, heaven, seved in a bun.

    Vanoonoo,

Meant to say that you can pick up shredded barbecue pork in the grocery store, so next time you are in the US you can make your own, much cheaper.

I am spoilt when I go to the states kaz - i stay with friends and one of them is a fantastic cook and does the best pulled meat in the world (IMHO ;)).

I just looked up her recipe for "bad a$$ baked beans":

Category: Side Dishes & CondimentsStyle: OtherServings: Bunches
    Description:
Perfect for pairing with potato salad at any barbecue

    Ingredients:
2 large cans pork and beans
1/2 pound bacon, cooked crisp and finely chopped
    1 medium onion, finely chopped
    1/2 cup worcestershire sauce
    1 cup brown sugar
    1/4 cup prepared mustard
    3 tablespoons tomato sauce
    pepper to taste

    Directions:
Combine all of the ingredients into a slow cooker (crock pot) and cook, uncovered, on low for 6-8 hours. If you don't have a slow cooker, bake these babies in a casserole dish at 250 degrees Fahrenheit for 2 hours. The result should be near the same.

Soak overnight as you would with a piece of gammon, to get rid of excess salt, then just cook it the same way you would a piece of brisket.

You're not Jewish by any chance are you? ;)

You can't get Heinz Beans (as you are probably aware, actually you probably can now), so I used to buy Pork and Beans, but the pork is just a bit of bacon fat for flavour.

My beans have changed slightly over the years but now

Minced Steak, about 250g, fried off and drained, chopped onion, about 4 cans of heinz beans, honey, barbecue sauce, red pepper, brown sugar and ham.

I reckon these would be even better done in the slow cooker, I usually bung it all in the oven for an hour. I like mine to have a bit of spicy heat to them. But will definately give your recipe a go.

No religion whatsoever. My ancestors were a mixture of Irish catholics, strict Wesleyans and some from Germany, of which the religion im not certain.

People in France thought i was jewish due to the name sarah, and people here think I must be muslim, or at least have indian connections because of my sons' names. Ive also been mistaken for dutch due to my accent when speaking french, and swiss when I spoke Italian. phew!

Hiw do you do brisket then I spose I just put the beef in the slow cooker like a normal joint?
