Scots continue buying at inflated prices

Given that I bought in 2008 why on earth would I want house prices to fall?
Why would you trawl the property pages religously after work given the fact that you bought in 2008?I live in Scotland and I trawl the property pages religiously. Infact its become a ritual, coming home from work and have a quick gander at rightmove over the last few years.
P.S. Rightmove is not the best tool to check on available properties ofr sale or rent in Aberdeen.
www.aspc.co.uk is far better:wall:

Why is it that those who live in Aberdeen seem to think it is the centre of the universe?0

To be fair, merthr tydvil was the centre of the universe for part of the downturn.
Well, the part where it showed rises on the land registry when most other places showed falls. Became unfashionable as soon as a fall appeared on the charts. Same as Aberdeen, really.0 -
Im from Fife.
I welcome a drop in house prices because in 3/4 years I anticipate we will buy a nice big family home which 3 years ago didnt look at all possible.
Fife is such a large area.
May I suggest you look at the ROSEA where you can see a breakdown of the monthly averaged sold prices
Fife June 2007 = £138,026
Fife June 2008 = £142,689
Fife June 2009 = £137,136
Fife June 2010 = £147,021
Why not take the time and plot a graph as I did for my VI area.
It may provide some useful information for you.:wall:

Yes.
It proves my point admirably.
Hover your mouse over the graph, line up january 2007 prices on the graph in the crosshairs that appear.
Then look right and tell me when they dipped below that point.....:D“The great enemy of the truth is very often not the lie – deliberate, contrived, and dishonest – but the myth, persistent, persuasive, and unrealistic.

Far from it.
I've mentioned many times to focus on people local areas.
The problem is that there are many people from outwith Aberdeen that seem to show ignorance and discredit the facts that can clearly be shown.
Maybe if people stopped talking about it as being some phenomena and opened their eyes to whats happening locally and across the uk, then we'd have a far more mature debate:wall:

There goes that cognitive dissonance again.....:rotfl:“The great enemy of the truth is very often not the lie – deliberate, contrived, and dishonest – but the myth, persistent, persuasive, and unrealistic.

Fair enough. Should have known you wouldn't have used peak in your example, whereas you use peak everywhere else (hence why I picked you up on it, not reading properly).
Move things on just 6 months down the line, to june 2007, and things look VERY different, eh Hamish, hence, this time, choosing to ignore peak0
