Parcel Delivery

I placed an order with Woolworths, it arrived a day earlier than stated which wasn't a problem apart from what was done with the parcels. It was pouring with rain, and they were left on the steps at the rear of my house which is in public view and fully accessible to anyone (especially as the delivery guy took the bolts out of the gate to get through) they were there all day until I got home and the parcels were soaked through.
Any ideas whats the best to do about this as was ordered online. I think it's shocking personally. I think it's also the same courier who left a stereo in the same place which then went missing.

One day I might be more organised...........

Ring Woolies and complain

Was the item damaged or faulty as a result of this? If so, Woolworths need to refund you and not charge for any further postage incurred as a result.
If it's just the manner in which the delivery driver left it, not sure really. I have a delivery driver who regularly leaves my parcels with neighbours halfway down the street whom I've never met in my life and it's really awkward to turn up and ask for it. I have phoned the company I purchase the items from and they say their drivers are "just the best of a bad bunch" so I guess they've heard it all regarding their couriers...0 -
I'll try calling them tomorrow. The boxes are damaged but not the goods inside but as they are gifts I would have liked the boxes to have been kept nice. Just realised the order is 2 items short aswell so I am going to have to complain now.
I know what you mean about courier companies, I don't think anything must have been mentioned to him about the stereo going missing as I know if I was a driver and knew it had happened I wouldn't do it again. One day I might be more organised...........

Distance Selling regulations will apply - you can get a refund.
or, if you are as minded as an aquaintance of mine.....
If such a delivery happened, she would leave it a week or so (after actuallt receiving he item), adn contact the store to ask when she could expect her order. The store, having no proof that she had received it, sent a replacement. She flogged the replacement on ebay.
I would never, ever, of course, recommend that anyone do this when they have received shoddy service by mail order, so avoiding making some profit out of a corporation's stupidity and misfortune...........Don't bother trying to sue me - I've got no money!0 -

Maybe, but it's still the criminal offence of theft. Find £5.00 on the street and keep it, knowing it doesn't belong to you, and that's theft0 -

I don't expect people here to recommend criminal activity to 'get their own back'. If people want to make money dishonestly why not have a board for the top tips on robbing banks.

for one, it was not me, it was someone I know. the person is not a friend, it is a neighbour I do not particularly like. Can you not read? If so, then you have deliberately insinuated that I am a thief. i am no such thing.
So before you start going round insulting others, why not put that brain of yours into gear and act with at least some decency and a small level of intelligence? You are entitled to your opinions, not to insult others.Don't bother trying to sue me - I've got no money!0 -
Getting back to the original post. I live on a main street and frequently return home to find that catalogues etc have been dumped on the front step. I confronted the courier the next time I saw them to have them totally deny them leaving them there (she sits in her car while her son does all the dumping). The very next day I was driving down another street where the doors are right on the street and guess what I saw? Yip, the same 'son' dumping catalogues on steps!
I now have a note on my door asking couriers not to leave catalogues and parcels on the step, and if I come home to find one I phone the company and complain bitterly about their standard of courier and that they are not able to read - even more bitterly if the parcel has been rain damaged as is usually the case.
I also find that not only is there the possibility that the parcel can be stolen but it is an advert that your house is empty and I personally would hold the company responsible if the house is broken into as a result of their 'advertising'!"Life may not always be the party you wish for, but whilst here you may aswell dance"!!!
