1st timer, so if I am in the wrong area one word Sorry but....
I’ve got some sort of bug/virus in my PC
It has affected my emails; I seem to have lost most of my personal folders
And what I have got left I can not view them now
Question/plea?? Can I get them back, if so how
I thought I was protected with my PC guard (blueyonder version) obviously not though
I have since installed AVG and did a complete scan (twice)
It appears my bug/virus is called W32/VB.NQ
according to the scan report i can not delete it because it effects my emails
Please Help

Delete this entry in the registry using hijackthis or autoruns or msconfig
If you are going to use bittorrent/limewire etc.. you are asking for infections, and need to make sure your windows, antivirus, and antispyware software is comprehensive and upto date and the firewall is turned on.
Start here: https://www.windowsupdate.com
I'd let your virus scanner sort this out, that is the tool for the job, and if you lose your emails (you probably won't) etc, put it down to experience, and patch and backup in future.Ever get the feeling you are wasting your time? :rolleyes:0 -

this is a problem
O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [outlook] C:\Program Files\outlook\outlook.exe /auto
should be in the Office directory
you also do not seem to have a working firewall and possibly 2 antivirus
dvpapi.exe is a process belonging to Authentium Antivirus
C:\Program Files\Common Files\Command Software\dvpapi.exe
and also AVG, you should only run one
follow posts 1 to 4 of this

this will be where the infection arrived from
