Thread is moving so quickly I'm not sure if anyone has said this yet....but this is for all those people with pending paypal payments to toysrus.

I contacted tru who, as we all know, are a bit of a waste of space as far as this problem is concerned, they told me it was a paypal issue and paypal would need to remove the hold.

Spoke to paypal on the phone, who clearly said it is tru who need to cancel the transaction, they even suggested I ask tru to phone them so they could talk them through how to do it :rotfl:

Upshot is I got nowhere :rolleyes:

I have just had a real live person email me from paypal to confirm everything, and they say the hold will def be removed after 29 days (i told them on the phone was v worried as didnt expire until nov 2010!!)

advised that as much we would like to cancel that for you it is impossible
for us to do so.


You must contact the merchant in order to cancel an existing authorisation.
It is not possible to cancel an authorisation from your PayPal account.

Please note:

• The merchant can take multiple settlements of smaller amounts to make up
the total for one authorisation. The amount of each settlement is deducted
from the total amount you have authorised
• If the amount captured by the merchant is lower than the original
authorisation, the difference in funds will be returned to your PayPal
balance when the payment completes
• The authorisation will expire if it is not captured after 29 days

As I posted before I have been having increasingly angry emails with TRU and have finally received an email giving a direct line for someone saying he is a manager for me to ring and discuss my "problem" or I can email him my number. Off work tomorrow so I'll see if I can get anywhere and let you know.

I had a payment pending for next in similar circumstances, the only way to drop the pending status is for toys r us to fax ur bank back office and the hold will drop xxx

U need to contact ur bank and explain u r going to get tru to fax them to drop the hold and get the back office fax number xxxx

By doing this within an hour the money was manually put back into my acct xxxx good luck xxx
