I've always had good credit rating and been a bit of a credit card tart however during a holiday this year I missed two payments on one of my cards. I've recently applied for another card to transfer a balance and been refused - never happened before. Can I do anything about this does anyone know come April I'm in big trouble if I can't get a new card!

If you've missed any payments in the last 12 months it's unlikely you'll get a "Prime" credit card; so don't apply for any more until you've gone 12 months without any missed or late payments.
Have you checked your credit report to see what information is there? There are other things that can affect your credit rating, i.e. excessive searches, new accounts, incorrect electoral role data, new job, recently moved house / bank, etc.
