maybe this makes total sense to some lol but why only 3 circles after a 4 letter word, and how do you know that those 3 circles represent the 1st 3 letters and not the last? probably just me :rotfl: been a long day!! x

Have a look HERE under Scoring. Then use the word BEAN instead of coloured pegs.

In the 4 letter word (e.g. AEON or BONE) only 3 of the letters were correct (in AEON the correct letters were A E and N and in BONE the correct letters were B N and E)

In BONE, the letter 'B' was in the right place, so got O, the letters 'N' and 'E' were in the wrong place so got O and O, the 'O' wasn't correct at all, so got nothing - i.e. O O O

In AEON, the letters 'E' and 'N' were correct letters in the right place, so each got O, the letter 'A' was correct but in the wrong place, so got O, the letter 'O' wasn't correct at all, so got nothing - i.e. O O O

In NAPE there were 3 correct letters, 'N' 'A' and 'E' but none were in the correct place so each got O, P wasn't correct at all - i.e. O O O

jeez 291.gif sounds like fun :D not for me though melli

hope you have a great time :j

    Evening all.

I was gonna say for the brain trainer puzzle, it looks like the old mastermind game, but you brainy lot have sussed it already.
And Korky, sorry for not keeping up with the brain trainer puzzles, I haven't even been in the puzzler thread for ages. Just not had the time, I'm really sorry.
Probably a good idea for someone else to do it, me being so unreliable. Well not unreliable, just busy.

I've just finished my 3000 word essay today(another reason being busy) have only to finish off the references and other bits and pieces, and the assignment is finished.
Can relax for my holiday in devon on saturday now.
so glass of wine in hand to celebrate:beer:

It looks like the old mastermind game where the different coloured circles represent either a correct letter in the correct place, or a correct letter in the wrong place.

    Aww thanks hun.
I must get back into the puzzler thread. When I do, if no-one has taken it up, I'll carry on doing the brain trainer.
You never know, on holiday this week, with no pc, I might end up buying the brain trainer!
