regular savings account?

My regular savings account with Halifax is due to mature at the end of the month. It's interest rate is 10% (Those were the days!). Ive just been looking at the Best Buy table on this site. I have a couple of questions:
- I already have a Barclays reg saver - can I open another one?
- Lloyds offer 5% but can only save £250pm. Halifax offer 4% but can save £500pm. Excuse my maths, but which would earn the most interest after 12 months?

If you only have £500 per month spare £250 in each is the way to go isn't it?

  • I have the max amounts recently opened in HSBC (8%), Barclays (6%) and Abbey (4%) and payments come out a week within pay day so i hardly notice it and i know everything else i can spend during the month/save for holiday spending, plus all accounts allow you to reduce payments (minimum £25) without forfeiting any interest so if your having any bad months its safe.

HSBC have just reduced the rates for a new regular saver as of July 1st. I am happy to say I started mine on 25th June.
There will be no Brexit dividend for Britain.
