I gained a large bottle of Vodka..... I don't drink Vodka though.
Worst thing ever from Asda was when I'd ordered an epilator. When I got it and opened the box (the box looked bashed so i checked it quick) there were hairs in the epilator... it had obviously been used and returned... and given to me!! I gave it back to the delivery woman and she didn't even bat an eyelid nor apologise! Disgusting!
That is disgusting.....I don't usually remember to open electrical goods to check that they haven't been used before buying...think I will from now on! I would have been happy to gain some Vodka, never been that lucky thoughMortgage-free wannabe 2025 £571/30000 -

I wouldn't have checked normally but the box was battered so I wanted to check it wasn't broken... didn't expect someone else's hairs stuck in it!:eek:If it's free and I can eat it, I'll have it!0 -
I once ordered six bananas from Sainsbury's and they sent me six kilos! They refunded the money & I got to keep the bananas.:jHelen0

This thread has given me a good laugh!
I work for the Online deliveries at Sainsburys and generally speaking, fruit and veg is the most often mixed up item as we have to weigh them last before we check out your shopping so sometimes, it ends up in the wrong bag.
Also, substitutes for items out of stock. I generally try to give the same quantity or weight as theres nothing more annoying than needing 8 eggs to bake with and only receiving 6. I must admit with some items, the system automatically suggests a substitute using a keyword.
For example:
Batchelors Super Noodles Chicken - OUT OF STOCK
try....
Batchelors Super Noodles BBQ Chicken
Although that system can sometimes prove difficult:
Robertsons Raspberry Jelly 135g - OUT OF STOCK
try...
KY Jelly 130g
It has happened....£2 Savers Club 2014 #74 - £4840 -
rofl @ KY Jelly! imagine getting that for your trifle!Undergrad law student. Take my advice with a pinch of salt! :rotfl:0

The best substitute i ever got from asda was tobacco... i ordered a 25g pouch of golden virginia... when the shopping was delivered they had run out of that sized pouch, so substituted it with a 50g pouch for the price of the 25g pouch. BARGIN!!!0

Whenever I've had substitutes from Sainsbury's they have charged whatever the 'normal' price is for the upgraded item leaving me with the choice of sending it back and having nothing or being stuck with an expensive item
The used epilator is revolting!Decluttering, 20 mins / day Jan 2024 2/20 -
