hiya, just wonder if the laptop memory modules SODIMMs are the same for most laptops? I was thinking about buying another module, but only if i would be able to transfer it to a newer laptop in the future....

Most are yes, but just check with http://www.crucial.com/uk/ so that you get memory that is the same speed and fitment type as sodimm has different cut outs for where the module sits.0

I'm a bit of a technophobe, I have an Apple G4 and need an external hard drive to use for backing up. I'd also like to store all my music somewhere and free up some space on my laptop.
I was very tempted to buy a 60gb ipod to do that but I can't justify the expense. Please can you tell me what the cheaper options might be?
Thanks :beer:0 -

Something like a Seagate external HDD would probably be perfect
(not as pretty as an Ipod though..
sounds like you want an external, usb hdd. the one I linked you to there is a good deal (imo seagate barracuda's are among the best), I'd shop around and buy something like that ahead of buying one out of an aldi's or lidls etc
