Hello :-)
I have zone alarm set up, but it keeps telling me about having blocked an intrusion.
I know its safe, as obviously the intrusion was blocked, and the info reckons its probably a port scanner, and as it happens so much, I expect that this is probably the case...
However obviously, its concerning me quite alot, is there anything else I can do? I kind of thought there might be a "report alert" button or something that would log it with zone alarm.
Can anyone suggest anything?
BTW : If it makes a difference, its the free version.
Thanks
Laurie

heh .. thanks , Im more comfortable knowing when an intrusion has been blocked :-)
What I meant is, are there any other ways to protect my PC..embarrassed to say I used to work for barclays..sorry0 -
If you are on broadband, buy a router, for about £40, you'll never see an alert again, as it will block them before they get to your PC.
All software firewalls can be disabled by malware, if you get an infection of some sort.. hardware firewalls are better, but I'd use the software one as well..Ever get the feeling you are wasting your time? :rolleyes:0 -
sounds ideal.

I have been online for a few years now (and also have an experience of working as an IT support). Most of Net dangers are highly exageratted!!! Do not open suspicious attachements, do not say 'Yes" to suspicious messages and keep ZoneAlarm on -that's fine! Also great free piece of software is Ad-Aware from https://www.lavasoft.com. There are other good programs, including Microsoft Anti-Spy.
The main reason ZoneAlarm is so obsessed with intrusion - they want to flog you the Pro version, that's all!!!!0
